The Kwadaso Area of The Church of Pentecost, under the leadership of Apostle Kingsford Kyei Mensah, commenced this year’s Apostolization on Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Kwadaso Central church.
The 5-day Ministers and Officers retreat is under the theme: “Remain In Christ And His Basic Message”. (1 John 2:24-25). The speakers for the event are Apostles Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi (General Secretary) and Matthew Larbi Wettey (Tema Area Head).
Exhorting a gathering of about 950 church leaders on the topic “The Bible” on the first day of the event, Apostle Kingsford Kyei Mensah underscored the importance of the Bible to the believer.
Making references to 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and Hebrews 1:1-2, he stated that the Bible is the revelation of God Himself, the mind of Christ and the voice of the Spirit. This, according to him, makes the Bible the only authentic manual for the believer.
“We must believe that the Bible is infallible in its content and self-complete,” he emphasized.
He further stated that for a believer to have a better understanding of the Bible, he or she must study a translated version of the Bible that he or she is very familiar with. He explained that most people do not easily grasp the content of the scriptures they read and as a result often misinterpret it.
Apostle Kyei Mensah advised Christians not to entertain any preacher or church that does not uphold the Bible as its basic doctrine. This, he said, would enable them to resist false teachings and doctrines that have become prevalent in the contemporary age.
After the sermon, Apostle Kumi-Larbi led participants in a time of fervent prayer to reaffirm their faith in the Bible and to make a commitment to study the Bible daily.
The Kwadaso Area Ministers and Officers’ retreat is expected to end on Friday, February 16, 2018. The event aims to empower and equip ministers and officers within the Area for maximum impact.
