God Needs Our Undivided Loyalty – Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah Tells Church Leaders

-

The immediate-past Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, has challenged ministers of the gospel to remain committed to God and exhibit undivided loyalty to Him at all times.

“God requires us to know the times and serve him with undivided attention and loyalty. You cannot be a good pastor when your loyalty is divided. You will not survive. We need to show ourselves as fortified workmen for God,” he stated.

Speaking on the theme, “A Glorious Church in a Speeding World” at the climax of the 7th Ministers and Wives’ Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, on Sunday, January 26, 2020, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah noted that the church today is faced with ministers whose loyalty and service to God is questionable, because they are not able to speak against the ills of society.

He, however, assured that the church will continue to survive and will never know any defeat since it is built on Christ. He further advised the ministers to pray at all times and seek the face of God to be able to understand the times and thereby live up to expectation, citing 1 Chronicles 12:32-33 to drum home his point.

Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah revealed that a research finding in the US by Pew Research Centre has revealed that there was a decline in the growth of Christianity globally. He stated that hundreds of churches have collapsed in the US, Germany and the Netherlands, with the average age for church attendance being 61 years in the US.

He attributed this decline to the fact that some Christians have compromised their faith and aligned with the ideals and philosophies of the world. This, according to him, is weakening the strength of the church in the contemporary generation.

“The Lord needs our loyalty. Let us not condone and connive with the world. It’s time to speak out against vices in the society such as homosexuality; it is not normal. It is a deviant behavior. We need to confront them. They are suffering and need our help,” he said.

He, therefore, called for serious prayers for the Lord to raise honest men for his work in this end times. He also advised the ministers to get into the deep through prayer and meditation until they feel God’s presence before undertaking any endeavor. “Go to the Lord in prayers and worship until you get closer to the Almighty,” he reiterated.

The former Chairman further bemoaned the situation where preaching, singing and worshipping in the church was becoming an epicenter of acting. “Acting is one most dangerous thing facing the church today. Certain things done in the church are not real; we are enjoying things in our churches that are not real. Let us be true Christians in worship at all times,” he stressed.
