Christian school could sack it’s staff if they are found to be gay

-

A school in Australia warned staff that they may lose their jobs if they admit to being homosexual.

Citipointe – a Christian school in Queensland – was already in hot water after sparking international outrage last month.

The institution had asked parents to sign contracts, condemning homosexuality and allowing them to expel LQBTQ+ children.

According to The Guardian, the school has now said that the staff shouldn’t engage in behaviours ‘incompatible’ with the ‘hardline teachings’ of the institution.

The school principal was forced to stand back from his role, after the school made global headlines for their approach to LGBTQ+ teachings.

They compared homosexuality to bestiality and incest.

The contract said: “‘We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including but not limited to adultery, fornication, homosexual acts, bisexual acts, bestiality, incest, paedophilia and pornography) is sinful and offensive to God and is destructive to human relationships and society.

“The College believes that by creating each person, God in his divine love and wisdom gifted them their gender, as male or female.

“The College therefore acknowledges the biological sex of a person recognised at birth and requires practices consistent with that sex.”

The contract was reconsidered, and the school said it was ‘taking time to heal’  following the events.

They claim they were only attempting to make their values clear, so parents would be able to make informed choices ahead of their applications to the school.

The Australian Prime Minister and the Education Minister, both said they opposed the contracts.
