Vice President of The Gambia, His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, received renowned evangelist and founder of the Lighthouse Group of Churches, Dag Heward-Mills, together with members of his delegation, at the State House in Banjul.
According to information released following the meeting, the discussions centered on promoting religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and national unity within The Gambia.
During the engagement, Vice President Jallow reaffirmed the Gambian government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of all religious communities in accordance with the country’s Constitution. He emphasized that the government remains committed to fostering an environment where people of different faiths can worship freely and contribute to national development.
Dag Heward-Mills expressed appreciation to the Vice President for receiving the delegation. As part of the visit, he presented copies of several of his published books to the Vice President.
The evangelist also offered prayers for continued peace, stability, and progress in The Gambia.
The meeting reflects ongoing engagement between government leaders and faith-based organizations on issues relating to social harmony, religious freedom, and national development.
