In 1996, the couple founded Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, Nigeria. The name itself was a declaration of intent: “dunamis” is the Greek New Testament word for supernatural power, and from the beginning, the ministry was built around a theology that expected God to intervene powerfully in the lives of ordinary people. The church grew steadily through the late 1990s and 2000s, attracting a congregation drawn to the combination of deep biblical teaching and genuine spiritual power.
The completion of the Glory Dome in Abuja marked a turning point in the ministry’s visibility. The structure, which seats over 100,000 worshippers, stands as one of the largest church auditoriums in the world and has become a symbol of faith in the Nigerian church landscape. Its construction was a testimony in itself, completed against considerable logistical odds and regarded by the Dunamis community as a miracle of provision.
