Evangelism Today

-

Evangelism over the decades has been carried out in various ways. Evangelism is when people are challenged directly with the gospel and invited to respond. However, methods of Evangelism has changed over time.

A few decades ago many people came to Christ when they heard great radio preachers. Then came the tele-evangelists. Evangelism is not recruitment: neither is it outreach.  Even though outreach can lead to evangelism, you can have outreach all day and never announce the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

To evangelize means people must be given the opportunity to respond to the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Evangelistic crusades were large gatherings typically in a stadium or arena where people are brought to hear the good news of the Gospel. Evangelistic Crusades bring to mind names like Billy Graham, Reinehard Bonnke, T. L. Osborn, Benny Hinn and many others.

Today it seems crusades are going out of fashion as many of these big names exit this world. However a few people are continuing to use meetings like that around the world to bring many to the salvation knowledge of Christ. One such name making waves is Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills.

This medical doctor-turned evangelist has been holding mammoth crusades across West and South Africa resembling the huge crusades of the ailing great German evangelist of Africa, Reinehard Bonnke. Gathering crowds in the thousands across various unknown cities across Africa, Evangelist Dag and his healing Jesus Campaign team keep the old and trusted method of calling souls to turn to Jesus aflame.

Methods may vary due to generations or cultures but we cannot let go of the old method of gathering crowds to hear about Jesus. So in case you thought the days of holding mammoth crusades were over, reconsider your position; Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills and the healing Jesus campaign team are romping across Africa using the old method.

Old or new method; let Jesus be preached. And let the few or thousands be called to turn their hearts to the cross of Jesus.
