The 2016 elections came with a lot of character and religious fan fair. Men of God prophesying to the different parties telling them they have won.
Whilst some of the men of God preached peace and tolerance holding various fora to drum into the minds and hearts of the citizenry the need to ensure peace before, during and after the elections; others found themselves on the different sides of the political divide.

Some pastors boldly came out declaring that one side of the political divide would win the elections. Others prophesied to the other side of the political divide that they have won.
Some simply kept quiet totally refusing to make public speeches.
Well, whether they formed the peace council, or prophesied victory to one political party or stayed quiet, it was quite obvious that the church one way or the other was involved in the politics of the day whether consciously or unconsciously.

Gone are the days when the church sat down and politicians as well as the ordinary Ghanaian ‘behaved’ well during elections.
Now it’s important to review this phenomenon. It’s importance and value to the whole state of Ghana.
In time past Ghanaian pastors did not comment much on politics but now perhaps it’s time they do and do it well.
