Watch Out For The Terrorists Of Leadership

-

1 Corinthians 10:12 (NLT) “If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.”
It is imperative for every leader to know and understand that his greatest enemy is internal, and not external. And in fact, there is an internal battle that is even more dangerous and deadly than all external struggles.

This battle has to do with temptations that we need to overcome.

From today’s opening verse, the Bible makes us understand that, we must not be complacent when it comes to temptation, but rather we must be careful, so that we can stand strong till the end.

Here are three of such temptations that every leader must be careful about:

  1. The love of money
Jesus considers the love of money a greater threat to a believer’s life than even the Devil. In Matthew 6:24, we learn that “…You cannot serve both God and money.”
  2. The love of Sex
Sexual desire is one of the strongest human desires that we must really pay attention to. If not checked, these desires can lead to one of the worst sins in the Bible—sexual sin(sex outside marriage). Scripture says in Ephesians 5:3 that, “But among you, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.”
  3. The love of power
If any believer wants an example of a leader who allowed the love of power to dethrone him, he shouldn’t look further than Lucifer. A beautiful angel reduced to a devil because, to him, having power was more important than being a servant (Isaiah 14:12-17).

Precious one, let us put aside complacency and fight these terrorists of leadership—the love of money, sex, and power.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me by Your Spirit to overcome every temptation that may come my way, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
