TBN Brings Hope Behind Bars

0

TBN is Taking the Love of Jesus to America’s Prisons.

Prisoners praise God during TBN 2nd Chance prison outreach service.

As America has faced the uncertainty and turmoil of the COVID-19 pandemic and social unrest over the past several months, no population has been more dramatically impacted than the more than two million men and women incarcerated in correctional facilities across our nation. But thanks to your prayer and partnership with TBN, untold thousands of those inmates are being comforted, inspired, and spiritually nurtured every day through the life-changing programming of TBN. It all comes to them through TBN 2nd Chance, an initiative we launched back in 2007, which provides inmates in prisons across America with three powerful TBN networks: our flagship TBN network, the Hillsong worship channel, and the Enlace Spanish-language network.  TBN 2nd Chance pays the total cost of satellite receiving equipment and installation in every prison, giving inmates access to a wealth of teaching, ministry, and inspirational programming. The result for countless men and women in prison is the exchange of a lifetime of hopelessness and disappointment for the healing, hope, and joy that come from experiencing the love of Jesus. And as the apostle Paul assures us in Romans 5:5, the hope that comes from knowing Christ will never disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (NKJV).

TBN 2nd Chance ministry holds outreach services for incarcerated female inmates.

Our TBN 2nd Chance director, Mark Reynolds, told Laurie and me recently that during the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic, a majority of inmates across America were forced into protective quarantine—which meant that their days were mostly spent in isolation and loneliness.

“We’ve gotten many letters from inmates telling us that the programming available to them through TBN 2nd Chance has been a literal life-saver,” Mark explained. “And what could have been a disastrous period of depression and loneliness, instead turned into an oasis of joy in God’s presence, as so many soaked up the worship, teaching, and encouragement TBN brought them.”

Another of our TBN 2nd Chance team members, C.J. Orndorff, pointed out that whether it’s one of the hundreds of minimum and standard-security prisons across America, or one of the notorious facilities like California’s Folsom and San Quentin, or Louisiana’s Angola State Penitentiary, where most inmates are there for life—TBN 2nd Chance is changing hearts and lives every day.

“I’ve been giving concerts and ministering in America’s prisons for many years,” C.J. told us, “and I can tell you emphatically that for men and women in prisons coast to coast, TBN is all the Christian community many inmates have. It’s a lifeline of God’s grace in an environment where hope is hard to come by.”

“IT’S AMAZING HOW A THREE-MINUTE SONG COULD MAKE ME REALIZE THAT JESUS LOVES ME JUST AS HE FINDS ME, A DRUG ADDICT AND MURDERER.”

TBN 2nd Chance prison ministry C. J. Ornorff leads worship bringing hope and healing during services for inmates.

Laurie and I love to read the many notes and letters that come to us from inmates impacted by TBN. One note long ago that really struck a chord with us was from a young man named Jeremy, who told about how he hit rock bottom in prison and had decided to take his life. With drugs on hand everywhere in prison, Jeremy got hold of a gram of heroin, “and I was planning to check out of this world. I was going to turn on some tunes, load the whole gram up, and overdose.” But when he turned on his radio that afternoon, all that came in was Christian music. “I had my syringe full of heroin, and the needle was in my arm, when a song came on, ‘As You Find Me,’ by a band called Hillsong United,” Jeremy recalled. “It’s amazing how a three-minute song could make me realize that Jesus loves me just as He finds me, a drug addict and murderer.”

“I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND ASKED GOD TO SAVE ME.”

He went on to relate that when the song was over, “I immediately got up and threw the syringe in the toilet and flushed it. I had no idea how to accept God, but I turned on my TV and somehow it was on TBN and a show called Praise with Matt and Laurie Crouch.” The guests that day were Brian and Bobbie Houston, founders of Hillsong, and when Jeremy realized that the couple speaking words of life from the TV were connected to the band and the song that had just caused him to turn from suicide, “I dropped to my knees and asked God to save me.” Since then, wrote Jeremy, “I haven’t turned my TV from TBN…. Whatever you guys are doing, God is blessing you and your ministry. You saved my life.”  Jeremy was quick to confess that he still has his struggles. But through the daily impact of what he sees on TV through TBN 2nd Chance, along with the influence of other Christians, Jeremy is living his life for Jesus and is moving in the right direction. (Log on to bit.ly/2nd-Chance-Jeremy to view Jeremy’s entire amazing testimony.)  Dear friend, as a TBN partner you are a big part of what is happening to Jeremy—and to countless thousands of other men and women in prisons across America—through the ministry of TBN 2nd Chance. Only eternity will reveal the fruit of your faithfulness. Thank you for standing with us.

More Than 5,000 Christian Pilgrims Stand With Israel ‘Because The Bible Says So’

0

At a time of rising anti-Semitism, thousands of Christians are in Jerusalem to celebrate the biblical Feast of Tabernacles and stand with Israel.

They came from the ends of the earth for the six-day celebration, sponsored by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), answering an ancient invitation.

“It’s the invitation of Zechariah the prophet. In chapter 14, verse 16 of the book of Zechariah, he envisions a time when all the nations will come up, celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem, worship the Lord here and we’re like forerunners. It’s a dress rehearsal,” ICEJ Vice President David Parsons told CBN News.

More than 5,000 Christians from nearly 100 nations came for the opening night to proudly stand with Israel and celebrate the biblical feast.

“In the end of the day it’s God’s faithfulness that has established for almost 40 years now this international gathering of the body of Christ in a unique way that you can’t find anywhere else,” Parsons said.

The organization started in 1980 after 13 countries moved their embassies from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv protesting Israel’s declaration of the united city as its eternal capital.

Israel’s victory in the 1967 Six-Day War made that possible by uniting Jerusalem so this is a special year for the feast.

“What’s really exciting, it’s the jubilee year for Jerusalem. We’re marking 50 years since the city of Jerusalem was reunited back under Jewish sovereignty,” Parsons said.

More than half of those celebrating are first-timers.

“We’re part of a 26-strong Cook Island delegation, and we’re here to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles and we’re about to be registered as a nation with ICEJ for the first time ever, so it’s wonderful to be here just with the nations in the presence of God and worshipping together,” Paul Lynch said.

“It’s in the Bible, it’s quite clear. Those who bless Israel will be blessed. They’re God’s chosen country and our government is making a pledge to support Israel,” he said.

“Early on this year God asked me to come to represent the nation of Samoa,” said Cruise Westerland. “So I brought a team of 20 people. So we’re here happily from the ends of the earth, just two hours flight from Fiji.”

We asked some pilgrims why they stand so strong with Israel.

“Because the Bible says so,” said Westerland.

“It’s the biggest proof that God is alive,” a young man named Bjorgfinnur from the Faroe Islands said. “You have the Jews coming back. You have the land flourishing.”

“I think Israel is such an important country in the view of the Bible. So I think every single Christian on the planet should support Israel,” said Veronica, a young woman from Finland said.

“Israel has given to many nations. It’s been a blessing to a lot of nations all over the world and it’s time to pay back,” Dr. Rotimi Olokodana from Nigeria said.

Alina from Washington State said, “Jews are the God’s chosen nation, and, I mean, you don’t want to go against God. That’s all I can say.”

Pastor, Wife Face More Than 2 Dozen Sexual Offense Charges

0

A Canadian pastor and his wife face more than two dozen charges regarding sexual offenses.

Colverdale Christian Fellowship pastor Samuel Emerson faces 13 counts of sexual assault, 11 counts of being in a position of authority and touching a person for a sexual purpose and one count of sexual touching of a person younger than 16, according to an RCMP news release. His wife, Madeline, faces charges of of sexual assault, being in a position of authority and touching a person for a sexual purpose, and threats to cause death or bodily harm, CBC reports.

“We’re just very sad, and we’re praying about the whole thing,” Cloverdale senior pastor Randy Emerson says. Emerson is Samuel’s father. “A sacred trust has been broken in many people’s minds.”

CBC reports:

He said his son has spent his life in the church, where he was a pastor for seven or eight years. The family became aware of the allegations at the time of the arrests, and the younger Emersons haven’t been around the church since then.

“The church is going ahead with what we’ve always done. We help people. We help the poor. We help every social strata we can,” Randy Emerson said.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Cpl. Scotty Schumann says the sexual assault allegations were against someone under the age of 16, in addition to “several other young adults,” Fox News reports.

“A lot of us, especially parents for example, entrust that these people are going to have the best interests of our children at heart and when that trust is broken, you certainly feel terrible as a community but terrible as a parent for not being able to protect your children,” Schumann said.

The Surrey Now-Leader reports:

The alleged assaults occurred between 2015 and 2017.

In a media release issued Tuesday afternoon, Surrey RCMP revealed that they received several allegations of sexual assault on May 17, 2017.

On May 18, the Emersons were arrested. Neither were known to police beforehand, and were later released under “strict conditions.”

Surrey RCMP said that at the time of the arrest in May, “there was not investigational or public safety need to report out on this matter,” which is why the information is being released four months later in October.

The strict conditions imposed onto the Emersons “were sufficient to alleviate any safety concerns,” said RCMP.

Samuel and Madelaine are not in police custody at this time but continue to be under the imposed conditions. The couple has five children of their own.

Acts 29 Pastor Says This Is Why So Many Christian Men Are Falling Into Sin

0

There’s a simple reason Christian men are easily falling into sin these days—at least according to Matt Chandler, lead pastor of teaching at the Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas, and president of the Acts 29 Network.

This one reason has Chandler provoked in spirit, and he’s not afraid to share why.

“Why are men going to bed these days with so much energy?” he asks.

In Chandler’s view, men who belong to Jesus should live in such a way that they’re exhausted by the time their heads hit the pillow.

AG Pastor No Longer Behind Bars: ‘God Did This Miracle’

0

After months behind bars, Assemblies of God Pastor Noe Carias is a free man. “He’s doing good,” his wife Victoria Carias tells the Los Angeles Daily News. “(We) feel very blessed that God did this miracle.”

Immigration officials released Carias last week shortly after President Donald Trump announced his plan for the The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Carias’ case garnered national attention since July, when he was detained by immigration authorities for illegally crossing the border in 1993.

“I am overjoyed by the news of Pastor Noe Carias’ release, after over two months of detention by immigration authorities. Most importantly, I am grateful that this man of God will be reunited with his loving wife, Victoria and his two young children,” Carias’ friend and President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Council Samuel Rodriguez says:

“From the beginning, the NHCLC stated we would not rest until Pastor Carias was released. Working behind the scenes with the White House, local and state officials as well as both Republican and Democratic members of Congress, we saw a powerful effect of the growing influence of our Hispanic community in action. Through our incredible member churches, friends, partners, co-laborers and prayer warriors, we were privileged to help mobilize a large coalition of Hispanic leaders, calling out, in a unified voice on Noe’s behalf. We are all giving thanks that these efforts were not in vain, and that our request was heard loud and clear. We did all of this with the firm belief that access leads to conversations, which leads to conviction, which leads to compassion.

“And yet, while we are grateful, we should never have gone through such a heart-wrenching process in the first place. We should be deporting pushers, not pastors. Noe’s story is a powerful reminder of just how desperate our nation is for comprehensive immigration reform,” Rodriguez says.

Carias was arrested in July but never gave up hope.

“I think first my Lord, Jesus Christ, then my wife, my children, my church. I think God is going to make a miracle to release me, set me free from this place,” Carrias tells CNN. “I’ve never been arrested by police. I’m a minister. I have my American citizen wife, being married for 14 years. I have two kids. I support the economy of this country and I [am] paying my taxes. I never commit crime in this country.”

Carias crossed the border illegally more than two decades ago after he was kidnapped and held hostage by guerrillas in his native Guatemala. According to his family, he was allowed to remain in the United States as long as he regularly met with immigration officials.

Carias and his wife Victoria pastor an Assemblies of God church in Los Angeles. She and their children are U.S. citizens.

Why I Never Drink Alcohol

0

Forty-six years ago, in 1971, the Lord graciously saved me from a life from sinful destruction, which included very serious drug abuse and some heavy drinking as well. From that day until today, I have never abused drugs again or had a sip of alcohol, other than taking Communion with a taste of wine when that was the only option.

Do I believe that the Scriptures require total abstinence for all believers? No, I do not.

Do I believe that Jesus literally turned water into wine in John 2, even if the wine was not as fermented as today? Yes, I do.

Do I believe that some Christians can drink some alcoholic beverages in moderation without sinning before God? I certainly do.

So, I am not here as anyone’s judge or jury, nor am I trying to force my convictions on anyone else. I simply want to share with you why I have totally abstained from alcohol for the last 46 years, since I’ve often been asked this question over the years.

First, although I loved getting high on drugs and getting drunk before I was saved, I did not enjoy the taste of alcohol. Once I gave up getting drunk, I had no interest in drinking at all. There was no temptation or desire.

Things were very different for my wife Nancy, who was born again in 1974. She really enjoyed the taste of alcohol and also got drunk before she was saved. So, for her, there was no question at all that she should avoid even the taste of alcohol once she was in the Lord. Why play with fire? Drinking only had sinful connections in her life.

Second, the church in which Nancy and I came to faith practiced total abstinence, so this became our practice as well.

I honestly don’t remember the pastor teaching on it in those early, formative years. Instead, we learned it from the other believers, some of whom used to be heavy drinkers before they were saved as well. For them, too, it was quite natural to cut that cord of attachment with the world.

Third, I began preaching in 1973 at the age of 18, so I was quickly looked to as a leader on some level. What kind of example was I setting? If others followed my lead, would they be helped or hurt?

For me, this was another good reason not to drink socially, since so many believers struggled with drinking before they saved, and some continued to struggle after they were saved. Why put another stumbling block before them?

Fourth, I have heard the same sad story many times over the decades, and it gives me real pause.

A former alcoholic sees another brother or sister have a glass of wine with their meal, or they visit your house and see that you have beer in your refrigerator. They then think to themselves, “Well, if it’s OK for them, I guess it’s OK for me,” and they have one drink—just one—and quickly find themselves enslaved again, sometimes for years.

So, your liberty, which might be totally fine between you and the Lord, ends up destroying a precious brother or sister.

Paul addressed this in the context of food sacrificed to idols, but the principle is the same: “and by your knowledge [meaning, the knowledge that food itself doesn’t defile us] shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? When you thus sin against the brothers, wounding their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat, least I cause my brother to stumble” (1 Cor. 8:11-13).

The lesson here is that we should put greater emphasis on helping weaker brothers and sisters than on enjoying our liberty.

Fifth, I minister in many different church cultures, some of which also practice total abstaining, therefore I take the more stringent road as a way of life.

For example, I’ve ministered in Italy and England on 40 different trips, and on my occasions, I’ve had meals with other Christian leaders who enjoy a glass of wine or beer with their meals.

I’ve never seen them drunk, nor have I felt they were doing something wrong. It’s their culture, and this is between them and God. (If this seems to be in violation of my last point, it’s not. I’m sharing my own counsel and convictions, not imposing them on others.)

I’ve also ministered in Asia on more than 40 different trips, most commonly in India, and I’ve never once seen a believer drink alcohol there, nor have I seen it on my few trips to Africa.

Again, for my own life, I’d rather live the same way in both cultures. In that way, if I’m ever asked about my personal practices in the stricter environment, I can say that I never drink at all.

Sixth, we are commanded in Scripture to be sober and vigilant (for example, 1 Pet. 5:8), whereas alcohol can easily lead to sluggishness, impaired judgment, sloppy thinking and acting, and outright drunkenness.

Since I believe in fleeing from that which destroys (see, for example, 2 Tim. 2:22), I run towards sobriety and away from anything that leads to drunkenness.

Seventh, I do not want to be enslaved by any earthly habit. (For decades, I was a chocoholic. By God’s grace, I’ve been totally free that from enslavement, along with other food addictions, for more than three years now—and I emphasize the words “by God’s grace.”)

It’s so easy to become dependent on that one drink just to calm your nerves, that one drink just to take the edge off, that one drink to quiet your fears, that one drink.

Perhaps you’re leaning on that one drink rather than on the Lord? Perhaps you’re becoming dependent on it? Perhaps one drink will lead to two or three or more?

Despite the lies of the flesh and the world, sin never satisfies. Instead, it leads to more sin, then to worse sin, and then it enslaves.

Which direction is your drinking taking you? Are you now getting into alcohol in general? Are you now trying out harder and harder liquor and encouraging your friends to do the same? Are you even having some drinking parties where you glory in your “liberty”? Have you had more to drink than you planned, even getting mildly drunk?

Again, I’m not playing God here, and I’m not sitting as your judge. But if you said yes to any of these last four questions, I can almost guarantee you that you’re on a slippery slope in the wrong direction and that, soon enough, your “liberty” will turn to bondage.

That’s also why I have a personal problem with the whole “beer and Bible” approach to ministry.

On the one hand, I understand that churches want to meet sinners where they are and invite them to study the Word in a comfortable environment. But at what point do these sinners hear the message of repentance, which includes repenting of drunkenness? And how many former alcoholics in the church now stumble and fall because of this environment?

To say it again, I’m only sharing my personal convictions here, and I’m quite familiar with the argument that those who have learned to drink in moderation all their lives will not struggle with getting drunk.

For many, that is true, just like in traditional Jewish culture, where small amounts of wine are incorporated into various meals and rites.

But in a country like America, where there is so much drunkenness and decadence, I’d rather err in the opposite direction and simply have nothing to do with alcohol in this world. And yes, once more, these are simply my own views, which I share because I’m often asked about drinking.

And even in biblical days, where alcoholic beverages may not have been as fermented as today and where most believers certainly did not practice total abstaining, we still have this warning: “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise” (Prov. 20:1).

The bottom line is that there are far more important things than food and drink, which is why Paul wrote, “For the kingdom of God does not mean eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom. 14:17).

May we all pursue that “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” in a manner fitting as a kingdom of priests before our God.

Jesus is the answer to Veterans!

Suicides are reaching epidemic proportions, and statistics show that for the fifth year in row the numbers are increasing in the US military. It’s cross generational and it’s affecting troops, veterans and their families.

Kim Ruocco’s husband took his life while at the height of his military career.  Major John Ruocco served as a Marine Corps pilot

for 15 years. A really good one according to his wife, Kim, and the accolades don’t stop there.

“My husband was a really great dad and husband and a superior marine and helicopter pilot, but he battled PTSD and depression and unresolved trauma and grief.

I had at the time two boys who were 8 and 10 years old so I was really thrown into this world of surviving a military suicide loss,” Ruocco said.

As a social worker, Kim often sensed subtle changes in her husband’s behavior.

“I asked him directly if he was feeling so badly that he was thinking about suicide,” Ruocco said.  “And he said I would never do that to you and the boys, and then he killed himself a couple of hours later.”

John became part of a growing statistic of active military and veterans who have committed suicide. The latest Pentagon research of the US Military states that in the past five years the suicides have increase, with more than 500 in 2018.

A Veterans Administration report indicates some 6,000 veteran suicides in the US each year between 2005 and 2017.

Dr. Heather Kelly is director of military and veterans’ health policy at the American Psychological Association.

“It’s a complicated problem and lots of different reasons for different people,” Kelly said.  “About half of those military service members who die by suicide have never deployed much less seen combat.  They’re subject to life stress that has nothing to do with their military service just like the rest of us.

After her husband’s death, Ruocco started the Assistance Program for Survivors or TAPS.

“When there is a suicide, they’re immediately connected to us and so we’re able to reach out to those survivors, assess their needs stabilize those with trauma, with mental health issues, with suicide risk and then help them with suicide specific issues like how do you tell your children,” Ruocco said.

To prevent those in the army to commit suicide, the American Bible Society has created the “God Understands Campaign” to help service members who are battling depression and other mental health challenges. It includes testimonies from people like Bryan Flanery who attempted suicide while in the army.

“Almost every day at the start of my day I remember sitting in that empty barracks room and I let myself feel those emotions again. The hopelessness, the pain, the anguish. Then I look at my life today and I see how God truly didn’t put a band-aid on it but he truly restored my soul,” Flanery said.

“The emphasis behind God understands is for people to listen to other stories to realize they’re not the only one who’s feeling like they’ve failed, they’re not the only one to walk this journey by themselves,” said Gordon Groseclose, a retired Army Chaplain who works with the God Understands Campaign.

Groseclose says social distancing in these times only magnifies feelings of isolation, and that could cause the already growing suicide numbers among service members to spike.  He says the campaign provides a unique human and divine connection.

“The way of ending veteran suicide is with Jesus,” Flanery said.

In fact, experts say faith is what’s called a “protective factor” when it comes to suicide.  In other words, those who identify with faith are at a lower risk for suicide.

Why Are Christians Crucifying Joel Osteen In The Midst Of Such Devastation In Houston?

0

What does the world see when professing Christians fight, accuse and demean one another over the right to criticize a minister like Joel Osteen? What is it in you that wants to pull this man down? Is it because he’s rich and has a lot of money? Is it because you think he’s a false teacher? Is it because he owns a mansion and you don’t?

Oh, I got it! He’s deceiving people with false doctrine and raking in the money while he does it. From all the social media posts I’ve recently read, that seems to be the hot button.

C’mon, people! Do you really believe that Joel Osteen purposely and intentionally deceives people with his teachings so he can rake in millions of dollars from them? I’m not saying I agree with his doctrine, but why must we so vehemently criticize him and kick him to the curb while the world watches us? And all this in the middle of such a horrible disaster that has left thousands of people homeless with increasing fatalities. How do you think the world perceives that? Can’t you see that this is what the devil wants? He deceives and divides in order to destroy us rendering us ineffective. How will the world know we are Jesus’ disciples while we behave in such a hateful manner?

“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

How can anyone who calls himself a Christian hate anybody, much less a minister like Joel Osteen? I’ve heard so-called Christians spew hate and harsh criticism toward this man, especially on the heels of the Houston flooding, accusing him and his church of not doing anything or not enough to help. Do you know this man? Have you ever sat and had a conversation with him? Do you know his heart? Has he committed some awful crime or evil? Why then do so many Christians treat him like a monster?

You know what I think? “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him” (1 John 3:15). And if you say you love, God you’re a liar: “If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar. For whoever does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” (1 John 4:20).

Evil Desires Cause Quarrels

“Where do wars and fights among you come from? Do they not come from your lusts that war in your body?” (James 4:1).

Evil desires. Too many professing Christians are yielding to evil desires! Let that sink in. This ought not be. Sometimes I wonder if some of these professing Christians are even saved. To prove that Joel Osteen’s church building was not flooded, and in fact could’ve been serving as a shelter for so many who’ve been left homeless, this one fellow went out in the rain and filmed the church’s property and posted it on social media. He went to extreme measures to show evidence that Lakewood Church was not flooded, and that he and the members of the church are all a bunch of hypocrites and charlatans who don’t really care about the people of Houston.

This man exposed his heart pretty quickly, though, as the very first words out of his mouth while he was narrating what he was filming was [an obscenity]. What blatant hypocrisy! And that’s what we are seeing—the same so-called Christians criticizing and finding fault with Joel Osteen and Lakewood Church are usually the lazy ones who always feel a sense of entitlement. They are so quick to point out problems while never contributing to the solution.

Don’t listen to the kickers and the gripers, the critics and the skeptics and for goodness sake, don’t listen to the media who feeds into that frenzy. There is plenty of love, goodness and compassion being demonstrated to the people of Houston through so many churches, organizations and individuals at this time.

My concern and purpose in writing this article is to identity this rotten, critical and contentious spirit of strife that is dividing the body of Christ, and encourage everyone to walk in the love of God. What is your motive in criticizing a man like that? What is it in you that wants to kick down a man like that? This is the attitude God sees, and frankly, it stinks. Do you believe that blowing his candle out will cause yours to shine brighter? Are you the spiritual police? You can disagree with his doctrine and expose error without personally attacking him and criticizing him.

Don’t you think that Jesus knew all along that one of His own disciples, Judas, was stealing from the treasury? Yet He didn’t expose his sin or tell anyone. Love covers a multitude of sins (see Prov. 10:12). If that spirit of real agape love ever gets into the church, look out! It will unify us like never before and put the devil on the run. The love of God is the bond of unity.

So what is Joel Osteen’s sin? He’s a false teacher? He’s become rich by questionable means? Is that offensive to you? If these things are true, they should break your heart and cause you sadness, not agitate you and make you harsh, critical and judgmental.

If Joel has erred in his doctrine, and through greed and covetousness has amassed riches for himself, he’s in bad shape and will have to give account to God for that. Only his judgment shall be stricter because he is teaching millions of people.

“My brothers, not many of you should become teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater judgment” (James 3:1).

If Joel Osteen has lost his way and is in trouble with the Lord, that should be what concerns every professing Christian and lead you to pray for the man. If he were your own son, brother or father, would you be criticizing him and speaking evil of him before the church and the world? I think not. When we can love others like they are our own children or closest of kin, we are really making progress and maturing in the true love of God.

It’s time all of us paid more attention to our own heart, lifestyle and walk with God instead of public figures like Joel Osteen. After all, you don’t have to listen to his teachings, follow him or give to his church or ministry.

Resurrection And Life- Real Life Testimonies

A man sick for several days in Intensive Care at the Central hospital has had doctors put oxygen on him to keep him alive.

According to his mother who is standing by my side in these pictures wearing green, she received a call in the afternoon that her 3rd boy in the hospital had died.

When she arrived, the oxygen had been taken off him and he was being prepared for the mortuary. She had heard of the anointing on Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills which was making the blind see and the lame walk. He was in the Kitwe Boys school park conducting yet another crusade. So she and her daughter rushed to the campaign believing God for the impossible.

This morning at the Power Conference in Kitwe, these two women came running up the Healing Jesus stage to testify that at the end of the campaign they received a call from the hospital that the young man is BACK TO LIFE.

He is now alive. They are coming back this evening to tell everyone what The Healing Jesus has done.
