Defining Your Life

0
When you lack mission and purpose in life, others will define your life for you. You cannot wake up in the morning and start moving from one place to another without direction and definition of what your day will be. When your life lacks definition, you will spend it doing irrelevant things, making unending irrelevant calls and embarking on roller-coaster visitations to places you are not welcomed; that is selling off the future.

It is important to take your life in your hand and tell yourself that you are absolutely responsible for the outcome of your life. When you define your life, it will enable you to live as commanded by God and demanded by your future destiny; not as convenient. It is not convenient for a student to study all-night but it is demanded by the season that he is in to burn the midnight oil in order to come out successfully in his exams or he fails.

Neh.4:23 – So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that everyone put them off for washing.

Be a law to yourself in a bid to accomplish your desired goal.

Gen.39:9b – … how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Your future should be more precious to you that the immediate pleasures of the world; you must forgo the pleasure if you want to accomplish your desired goal.

Neh.5:14-16 -Moreover from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year even unto the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that is, twelve years, I and my brethren have not eaten the bread of the governor. 15 But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God. 16 Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work.

When you define your life, God will raise you as one of the Nehemiah army of leaders of our time to set HIS people free because of your self-discipline. When you define your life, you place yourself under self-set rules and establish boundaries around you so you can go for only what will build, edify and secure your future.

1Cor.10:23 -All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

When you define your life, it will make you operate without requiring supervision towards the delivery of the task given to you. You will not need anyone to shout at you or monitor you before you do the right thing. Let that be your lifestyle from today and the God who sees in the secret will reward you openly in the name of Jesus the Christ –Amen!

God bless you

A Closer Look At Sinach

0

Osinachi Joseph (nee Kalu), popularly known by the mononym Sinach, is a popular Nigerian gospel musician who hails from Ebonyi state.

Born March 30, 1973, into a family of seven where, she is the second daughter, Sinach studied physics at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Her mentor is Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, senior pastor of Christ Embassy.

Sinach, an award winning songwriter, worship leader and recording artist who began her musical career in 1994, is currently the senior worship leader at believers LoveWorld, Christ Embassy, and a key member of the LoveWorld music team of Christ Embassy.

In a post on Instagram she revealed about her past:

“I had a dream as a little girl that one day I will change people’s lives. I would have dreams of singing to many people from different nations and tongues but when I opened my eyes I was right there still on my bed waking up to the sound of my father’s early morning BBC radio news to start my seemingly uninteresting chores before school.

It was just a dream. As the years went by, my parents insisted that I train my mind. Then I met Jesus and he changed my purpose and changed my reason for singing. Challenges along the way built my character. Like a clay,I’ve been beaten, poured upon, torn apart, rolled over, put into the fire, and continuously moulded into shape in the process of making me”

According to her, music was her dream. Her father objected to her musical career. He told her she would go hungry as a musician, that musicians amount to nothing. It was when she met Pastor Chris that he changed herperspective. He told me her she could be anything she want to be in life with God’s word.

Sinach is a spiritually gifted woman in terms of gospel music. She has given hope to the hopeless all over the world through her inspiring songs. She is a multiple award-winning song writer, recording artiste, producer and worship song leader.

Married to Joe Egbu, this talented singer is a key member of Love World music team of Christ Embassy, and knows that gospel music is not for commercial purposes but to help promote the gospel of Christ and lift up the spirit of the hopeless.

Franklin Graham Warns Equality Act Would Be ‘Catastrophic’ For Christians If It Becomes Law

0

The Equality Act, a bill that would add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected classes under federal civil rights law, would be “catastrophic” for Christians and churches if it becomes law, evangelist Franklin Graham warned.

Graham, in a recent op-ed for Decision Magazine, warned that the bill, which was introduced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in March, would grant the same protections afforded to racial minorities and women under the Civil Rights Act to the LGBTQ community, causing significant legal problems for Christians who hold a biblical worldview.

He also noted that if Democrats get control of the Senate and the White House, the bill is likely to become law.

“The progressive, Democratic-controlled House of Representatives has already passed this atrocious bill, and only the Republican-controlled Senate and the president stand in its way. If the Senate majority changes or if enough Republican senators change their position, it would be up to the president to veto the bill. And if that office were to change hands in 2020, I have little doubt this would become the law of the land,” Graham said.

“This legislation will have catastrophic consequences for competitive sports, along with churches and faith-based nonprofits who would lose all protections to hire people who adhere to their Biblical statements of faith. Christians will be persecuted for their sincerely held beliefs as never before. The clear teachings of the Bible on the sins of homosexuality and abortion will no doubt be considered ‘hate speech.’ It will be a nightmare from which this nation may never recover,” he warned.

He further thanked President Donald Trump for standing up to the LGBTQ agenda last month.

“I want to thank President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for making the decision not to fly the gay flag over our embassies during June in recognition of gay pride month. That is the right decision. The only flag that should fly over our embassies is the flag of the United States of America. The gay pride flag is offensive to Christians and millions of people of other faiths, not only in this country but around the world. The U.S. flag represents our nation—everyone—regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation,” Graham noted.

Dag Heward-Mills In Bible Days Miracles- Dead Raised To Life

9
Reports coming in from Namibia indicate a new level of the mighty move of the Holy Spirit in the evangelistic campaign being carried out by international Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills.
The dead was raised to life on the second night of the crusade.

The beautiful testimony came from a woman whose mother died at home but believed God to raise her up if she attended the crusade. She then left her dead mother at home with her children whilst she attended the crusade.

She testified that at 10pm after the crusade her children with whom she had been communicating throughout the evening told her the dead mother was back to life to the glory of God!!

Evangelist Dag and his campaign team has already been to two cities in Namibia and is on the third campaign.

WHAT AN AWESOME MIRACLE!!

BIBLE DAYS MIRACLES HAPPENING!!

The raising of the dead was first experienced in the crusade of Evangelist Dag in Columbia whilst preaching in Barranquilla.

The crusade in Oshakati has also seen blind eyes popped ones, deaf hearing, and pain from epidural surgery all healed by the Healing Jesus!

Korean Megachurches Debate If Pastors’ Kids Can Inherit Pulpits

“You’ve heard that our church is very big. Very large,” said the pastor emeritus of the world’s largest Presbyterian church at the 2018 commencement of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. “I and my colleagues at our church worked together and practiced exactly what American missionaries taught us,” continued Kim Sam-whan, who in 1980 founded Myungsung Presbyterian Church in Korea with 20 members.

Today, Myungsung claims more than 100,000 members, and its footprint extend beyond its main Seoul sanctuary with its two towering spires. The church owns and operates an evangelical television channel, two schools, the first and only private prison in Korea, and hospitals in Korea and Ethiopia.

However, the megachurch and its denomination have been fractured after the 74-year-old Kim gave his senior pastor position to his 46-year-old son in 2017.

Next week, the court of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK-TongHap), one of the largest of Korea’s more than 100 Presbyterian denominations, is scheduled to announce its decision July 16 on whether the accession of Kim’s son, Kim Ha-na, is valid.

The crux of the debate is Article 28.6 of the PCK-TongHap constitution, which prohibits the transference of pastor or elder positions to family members. Defenders argue that Kim Ha-na was elected in accordance with Myungsung’s laws, and the denomination that Kim Sam-whan once headed should not meddle in the megachurch’s affairs. Critics argue that the denomination’s flagship church is flouting the corporate laws it must heed.

“Hereditary succession is a major issue in Korea because the world’s first major wave of megachurches was birthed in Korea,” said Warren Bird, megachurch researcher and co-author of Next: Pastoral Succession That Works.

Today, South Korea is home to 3 of the 10 largest Protestant churches in the world, according to Leadership Network’s current database. The East Asian nation also has more than 15 “gigachurches” (ones with more than 20,000 members)—the most in the world, followed by Nigeria and the Philippines.

About 1 in 10 megachurches worldwide see their outgoing lead pastor succeeded by a family member, according to Bird. The Alliance Against Church Inheritance, a Korean parachurch group, reports that since 2013, more than 140 Korean churches have handed their pulpits over to a family member of the senior pastor.

In the United States, pastoral succession within families is a common practice—and often a successful one. For example, America’s largest church—Lakewood Church where some 50,000 gather every Sunday to worship at the former arena of the NBA’s Houston Rockets—is led by Joel Osteen, the son of founder John Osteen. In Virginia, Jonathan Falwell inherited his renowned father’s Thomas Road Baptist Church after Jerry Falwell passed away in 2007.

Ethnic Cleanings Of Christians Is Ongoing In Iraq

0
A UK Analyst has made a shocking revelation about the persecution of Christians in Iraq.
Dr Tim Stanley who just returned from a visit to Iraq’s Nineveh Plains told a meeting at the UK’s parliament last Tuesday, 9 July, that what Iraq’s Christians want from the West is to say the plain truth: that there is ethnic cleansing of Christians in the region and it is ongoing.

The historian and columnist, working for UK daily newspaper The Telegraph, also said that the United Nations has been reluctant to recognise the violence against Christians and Yazidis as genocide, despite pressure from civil society groups and some of its own member states such as the Netherlands.

“If we don’t say what is really happening in the region, which is ethnic cleansing of both Christians and Yazidis, we allow Islamic State and other perpetrators to get away with it,” Stanley told the audience at the event, ‘The Global Persecution of Christian Minorities’, organised by the Henry Jackson Society, a British foreign-policy think tank.

Since Islamic State was pushed out of the region, displaced Iraqis have slowly started to return to their communities but continue to live in fear and they continue to be vulnerable. Pockets of IS fighters are still active and the group has said it started the fires that in recent weeks torched hundreds of acres of land and crops, “owned by infidels”, in northern Iraq.

Meanwhile, Iranian-backed militias have moved into areas previously under IS-control, discouraging people to trade with Christians, Stanley said.

In January, a UN team started investigations in the country to collect evidence of genocide and war crimes committed by Islamic State fighters, in order to take the perpetrators to court in Iraq. The UN has been reluctant to recognise the violence against Christians and Yazidis as genocide, despite pressure from civil society groups and some of its own member states such as the Netherlands.

Iraq ranks 13th on Christian support organization Open Doors 2019 World Watch list of the 50 countries where it is most difficult to be a Christian.

You Don’t Accidentally Evangelize: If You Don’t Prioritize It, It Won’t Happen 1

0
Evangelism has fallen out of style.
Sure, some of us are trying to keep it at the forefront of our churches’ thinking, but stats don’t lie: While 79% of unchurched people said they would engage in a faith conversation if asked, only 39% of Christians have shared how to accept Jesus in the past six months. That’s a wide margin by any measure.

This means that over 60% of people are not telling our world about Jesus—even on an annual basis. This is a sad reality. Of all the activities in the church, evangelism is most likely to be neglected and thus, we actually do need to make it great again in a world which offers us so many competing priorities.

Both evangelism and social action are part of the mission of Jesus. Jesus came to serve the hurting (Luke 4:18ff) and save the lost (Luke 19:10). We do similarly as we join Jesus in that mission.

However, in almost every era, when Christians hold the values of gospel proclamation and gospel demonstration, it is proclamation that gets lost. So, I believe in what is often called “integral mission,” but I also think we have to find a way to be sure that evangelism does not get lost.

And, in 2019, evangelism is getting lost.

I call this being an “integral prioritist.” I love mission, social action, and discipleship. These are all good things — even essential things.

But I have to find a way to prioritize the thing that gets lost— to prioritize evangelism. In 2019, we all need to consider how to be sure that evangelism does not get lost.

Historical intentionality

If we go back to the 1930s and 40s and look at the Wesleyan, Pentecostal, or Baptist traditions, Spring and Fall revivals were commonplace. These were intentional times where Christians got together to do evangelism and to engage those unreached around them. Many came to Christ through these events.

These revivals were often accompanied by (and in some cases overtaken by) in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s by things like Evangelism Explosion. Many churches began to incorporate weekly activities like the Tuesday night visitation, which included some evangelistic activity. People would go out and visit people to share the gospel, or invite their friends to church. One word might sum up the commitment to evangelism during this time: intentionality.

People sought opportunities to share the gospel.

Fast forward to today

Today, however, things have changed.

Many churches do not have dedicated times or ways for people to reach our world for Jesus. As a result, intentionality has faded. The truth is, like anything else in life, when people have some sort of means, time, and intent, they actually are able to better prioritize intentional outreach.

Engaging others—whether we know them or not—around the gospel is something all of us should seek to do each week. Yet, we’ve lost much of our intentionality.

The Moment God Steps In

The moment God steps into the boat of your life, He drives away sickness.
Matthew 8:14-17
Acts 3:1-8

When Jesus pays you a visit:

1. He drives sicknesses away from you and your family.

2. He gives to you what money cannot buy.

3. You become qualified for His prayers.

You must understand that when Jesus comes into your life you must obey His
words.

Prayer point
Father, if you are visiting two people today, please let me be one of them
