…He Rose Again

0

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied (I Corinthians 15:17-19, NIV).

Beloved, the day is Easter. It is a day to rejoice. The day that Jesus rose from the dead. He rose again for you. He rose again for me. He fulfilled the prophecies so that we may live eternally. When Christ rose again, He proved that He keeps His promises. He proved that He is the Son of God. He proved that He is sinless. He proved He loves us. He proved that He is God.

He proved that He keeps His promises:

He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again (Luke 24:6-7).

He proved that He is sinless:

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him(II Corinthians 5:21).

He proved that He loves us:

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another (John 13:34).

He proved that He is the Son of God:

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4).

He proved that He is God:

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18).

Without Christ rising from the dead, we have nothing. The Resurrection demands that we believe that Jesus IS God. Without faith, we cannot have salvation. Without faith, the Bible is a book with some good stories, about a moral man.

Beloved, faith is a fact, but faith is also an act! This faith is what gives Christians a living hope. Because we are forgiven for our sins through the blood shed on the cross by Jesus Christ, we are now changed from enemies of God to forgiven children of God, with an eternal inheritance in heaven that can never be taken away.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Romans 5:10

This is our salvation: Jesus was born, Jesus lived, Jesus died, and 3 days later, Jesus rose again. Jesus took the burden of our sins so that we could be forgiven and spend eternity with our Creator, His Father, God. Because of this, we are redeemed—set free from sin and death—purchased by Christ’s blood on Calvary.

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead …

Matthew 28:2-7

Each of the gospels that were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, tell us of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. But what is interesting is how each of them ended their passages. At the end of the chapter in each of the gospels, after the resurrected Christ came to them, and then left again, we learn a different lesson from each apostle.

Matthew tells us to TEACHGo ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28: 19-20).

Mark tells us to PREACHSo then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen (Mark 16:19-20).

Luke tells us to PRAISE and WORSHIPAnd it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen (Luke 24: 51-53).

John tells us to have FAITH… blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name (John 20:29-31).

Beloved, as we surrender our lives to the Lord, believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died, was resurrected, and accept Him as our savior, our salvation is promised by our Heavenly Father. During the season of Easter, let’s focus on the fact that Jesus rose again—He conquered the grave—and through Him we can live eternally in His Presence. Hallelujah!

Say this faith declaration out loud: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending your Son to die for my sins so that I can have eternal life. Thank You for Your grace, mercy, and love. I will continue in my faith. I will study the Bible so that I can teach Your Word. I will preach Your good news. I will praise and worship You. I want to bless You, as You have blessed me. Amen.

Faith For Divine Health

0

Divine healing is a state of being restored from sickness to health by God’s intervention while divine health is a state of not getting sick at all. For you to live and enjoy divine health by faith, you have to locate God’s word that has to do with healing or health and stand on the integrity of that word, thereby committing God for your body to respond to the word.

Matthew 8:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

If you look at this scripture, the word ‘took’ means the sickness left you, it means Jesus has already taken the sickness away, it does not exist. At this point, you are not looking at your body, the pains or the swelling and the discomfort they are causing; you are simply saying ‘if He took all these things then I do not have them’. And as your heart receives the word, you just wake up and find out that you do not have the sickness anymore. Once your heart receives the word, no matter how your body is feeling as long as your faith is strong, the body will eventually respond.

1 Peter 2:24b  By whose stripes ye were healed.

https://www.facebook.com/davidibiyeomie247/videos/250818965725560/

Do you remember the story of Erioma Wali who was born with a condition that left her left leg shorter than the right leg? The testimony of how her legs miraculously became equal in the just concluded 5 Nights of Glory 2019 was shared across our various social media platforms

The word of God you are standing on will commit Him to intervene concerning your health. But God cannot intervene if your heart has not received it. You commit God to heal you as He is not a man to lie.

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Just as you must present an evidence in the law court, your evidence here is the word of God and the judge who is God will then rule the case in your favour and your body will be healed. You must locate the word, receive it, believe it, act on it, speak it and then it becomes real in your life.

This works for every area of your life – prosperity, healing, deliverance etc. All you need to do is locate God’s word, receive it in your heart without doubting, declare it to the world and you will commit God to do it. Even in marriage, if you locate God’s word, no matter your age, stand on it, and the man will locate you and come to you. The first thing is just to get the word. If you say you have faith, you are saying you have the word of God not just knowing and reciting it but you believe what it says and act on it even if your circumstances says otherwise.

Any time a man says I have faith, it means he has a word he is standing on. Faith commits God’s integrity.

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

So, faith is evidential and substantial. You do not see it but you commit God based on what you believe in His word and then He performs what He said.

Hebrews 11:2  For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Every good report is obtained by faith. God will only be pleased when you walk by faith. Faith is an active living force, the vital force that turns situations around. You need faith to take delivery of everything God has said in His word. What you will see tomorrow is a function of your faith today.

Have faith in God to perfect your health no matter the sickness, nothing is too hard for God to do!

They Crucified Him …

0

Do you know about the day that changed everything? The day of irrefutable miracles? The day of incredible sacrifice? The day of indescribable love? The day of heavenly redemption? A day of forgiveness that cannot be repaid? The day of divine resurrection?

Beloved, that day is Good Friday. It is a day that changed the world. The day that Jesus died on the cross. He died for you. He died for me. He died for anyone who will accept Him as their Savior, the one true Son of God, and our only salvation. There was no other way that we could have a relationship with God.

They crucified Him …

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

John 19:17–18

God’s Son, Jesus, was sacrificed to pay the debt of our sins. This day is the day God showed His indescribable love for us.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

Beloved, Christ died in our place, washing away our sins, and offering us the greatest gift of all–salvation.

We see five significant events that took place on that day:

Darkness covered the earthAnd when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour (Mark 15:33).

The veil was tornAnd, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom …(Matthew 27:51).

There was an earthquake: … and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent (Matthew 27:51).

Dead raisedAnd the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many (Matthew 27:52-53).

Multiple salvationsNow when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God(Matthew 27:54).

Beloved, on this day, in this hour, Jesus was revealed as the Son of God. Both secular historians and sources outside of the Bible confirm that this darkness actually did take place. There actually was an incredible, unexplained earthquake. Thallus, who wrote a history of the Eastern Mediterranean world said, “On the whole world there pressed a most fearful darkness; and the rocks were rent by an earthquake, and many places in Judea and other districts were thrown down. This darkness appears to me without reason.” (ref: The Historical Jesus, Gary Habermus, pp. 196-197)

History records that the veil of the Temple that covered the entrance of the Holy of Holies was about 60 feet tall and up to 4 inches thick. This would have made it impossible for a person to tear it in two. Yet, at the very moment that Jesus took His last breath, it tore in two. This miracle of God signified that He had opened the door for us to come in, and have a relationship with Him.

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

I Peter 3:18

The Scriptures tell us that many people witnessed as graves opened up and the saints rose from the dead. This gives witness to Jesus’ victory over death. It confirms that Christ has conquered sin and that God brought to life what was dead to fulfill His purposes.

The final significant event of this day was that the centurions (perhaps the ones that drove the nails into Christ’s hands?) were terrified, and realized that Jesus was exactly who He said He was: God’s Son, Messiah, Savior, Lord, Prince of Peace, Lamb of God. It was then that they realized their sin, and professed Christ as the Son of God.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:9

Beloved, when Jesus died on the cross to redeem us, He did it out of pure love for us. He had done nothing wrong, committed no crime, and performed no sin. His grace is so mighty, that all He asks is that we believe on Him. He was sacrificed, died, and rose again so that we could live eternally and escape separation from God. We see, in the above significant events, the irrefutable proof that Jesus lives and wants us to accept salvation through His sacrifice.

Say this faith declaration out loud: Dear God, I know that I am sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died to pay for my sins. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and that I can have eternal life because of His sacrifice. Please forgive me of my sins, come into my heart, and be Lord of my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Smallness Is Not Godliness

0

It is not the will of God for you to be small.

Jeremiah 30:19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

So God is saying that as He multiplies us, He will glorify us. Smallness therefore, is not godliness. To be small does not make you look like God at all. God wants you big. Not all winners in life sweat to win. Covenant abundance means you do not sweat to succeed. There is a difference between hard work and hard life.

Adam never lived in lack until he fell. Jesus, the second Adam, never knew any lack all through His life here on earth. In times of challenges and lack, He knew what to do as He did in the incident of the feeding of the 5,000 in John 6. What Adam lost to satan, Jesus recovered to us. However, enjoying it is conditional. Jesus said,

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

If you do not know the truth, hardship continues! Ignorance therefore is the reason why many are still in lack. Because the Bible says;

Proverbs 13:15  Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

The Amplified Bible renders it this way; “But the way of the ignorant is hard.” So hardship is a function of ignorance. If you are passing through any kind of hardship, the reason is because you are ignorant.

Isaiah 5:13  Therefore, my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

Lack of knowledge is the reason why many Christians are passing through hardship; not because of the economy of the country. If it so, why are others prospering? I want you to know that hardship is not strange. Our covenant fathers saw famine in their days but in the midst of it, they prospered (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph). If you know what to do in the midst of any hardship, you will come out on top.  You can disappoint disappointments with knowledge. That is, when you know what to do, you can walk out of every disappointment.

For you to enjoy covenant abundance on your way to the top, sitting down to think is very important. Not just mere thinking, but productive thinking. Most times when Christians are facing a challenge, people are quick to ask them, “have you prayed?” rarely does anyone ask, “have you spent time to think about this issue?” Analytical thinking will bring you out of any hardship.  There is a time to pray and a time to sit down and think.

Isaiah 30:7  For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

That is, stop running to unbelievers; that is not where the answer is. Your strength is in you sitting down to think. When people have financial challenge, their minds always run first to man, “maybe that my uncle can help me.” But I am challenging you to an approach that never ceases to work. Sit down and think! Handle issues productively. Sit down and use your brain to get the gain you desire.

Isaiah 30:15  For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

Luke 14:28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

There is a great treasure inside of you but God will not give you all the answer until you sit down. You have put in all manner of prayer request everywhere, yet nothing has happened.

Isaiah 30:21  And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Every time you come to a cross-road, know that there is an answer somewhere and the answer is inside you not in your running around. I am not saying that prayer is not important; the church need to move on to productive thinking.

The prodigal son did not pray any prayer; he sat down to think and then he found the way out. Then he arose and moved out of abject poverty without prayers and no devil could stop him (Luke 15:17-20).

This is not just mere intellectual exercise but rubbing your mind with the Creator’s mind for divine inspiration that will bring you out of the situation you are in. That is not learnt in school. It is time to start reasoning. Begin now to engage the mind of Christ which you received at new birth.

Say to yourself, “I will start thinking.”

I command your mind to be open now in the precious name of Jesus!  You will never be stranded again in life!

God bless you

The Value Of Faith

0

Faith is a spiritual force that commits God’s integrity to make good His promise. This means that if God has said anything to you and you have faith, you have committed His integrity that HE will make happen what HE said and HE cannot lie. Faith is evidential and substantial; you have not seen it but you know that it is real. Every good report is a product of faith.

Faith is your access to all your inheritance in Christ. It guarantees your access to every inheritance you have in Christ. Faith is the bridge that connects you to your destination. God has no problem confirming His word; He is only looking for who will trust Him.

Every child of God has faith according to Rom. 12:3b

Rom. 12:3 -For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

To pray a prayer of faith, you must first of all locate appropriate scriptures which are in line with your request. This is because God will not respond to any prayer which are not in line with His word. So, when you want to pray, you must locate a scripture or scriptures which are relevant to what you want to ask God for.

1 John 5:14 – And this is the confidence that we have in him that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

So, firstly, you have to locate the right scripture to pray with; if you just pray anyhow, God will not hear you.

Hosea 14:2a – Take with you words, and turn to the Lord:…

Thus, you have to get God’s word and return it back to the Lord because God’s word is Himself. God will hear your prayers when you pray according to His word; not according to your grammar. That is why many people that pray with calculated English do not have result because their prayers are not in line with the word of God.

It is not enough to locate a scripture. When you locate a scripture, meditate on it until faith rises in you. Meditation can be compared to incubation in agriculture. Meditate on the scripture until faith is built.

1Tim. 4:15 – Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Sit with the word of God until the rhema becomes very real to you. A good illustration on meditation is digestion. When you eat food, it has to digest before it nourishes your body. That is how getting the word of God is likened to eating while meditation is likened to digestion. Therefore, the word of God has to settle in your heart before you can produce it.

After meditation, the next step is to open your mouth in prayer because faith is not finished until it is spoken for God to confirm it.

2Cor. 4:13 –  We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Speak and declare what you have seen in God’s word which you have also meditated on and God will not hesitate to confirm it.

After speaking and declaring what you want to see, believe that it is done.

Mark 11:24 – 24 For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you. {Amp}

If you want the prayer of faith to work, when you pray for anything, you don’t have to see it before you know that God has answered; you have to know that He has answered before you can see it. If you don’t have faith that God has answered, you cannot see it but the moment you have faith, then you will have what have prayed for.

Believe that you have received answers to your prayers before you see any physical manifestation. From today, as you begin to practice the prayer of faith, may all that you request of the Lord in accordance to His word come to pass in your life speedily in the name of Jesus –Amen!!!

God bless you

Signs For Impact

0

Signs are the spiritual heritage of the Children of God.

Isaiah 8:18  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

Mark 16:17  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

When you walk in signs, the world cannot ignore you. If you desire to be a person of impact then you must work in signs. It is possible to be a producer of signs and a person of impact.

If you want to be a person of impact, your faith is the switch that turns on signs and wonders. Every born-again child of God is expected to produce signs and this is not just for pastors alone. When you work in signs, you command respect in your assignment. However faith is what it takes to turn on the switch of signs and wonders.

Mark 9:23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Faith is to believe and act on God’s word in order to commit Him to do what He says He will do. Miracles are not only about healing the sick; miracles are for everybody. Miracle is simply God intervening in the affairs of men. You need miracles in your business and academics. There is no point being born-again if you do not believe in miracles because salvation itself is a miracle.

To work in signs and wonders you must possess a healthy conscience. You need a healthy conscience to work in the miraculous. Faith will remain impotent without a good conscience, and signs and wonders are merely theoretical without a healthy conscience.

1 Timothy 1:19  Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

You cannot be an instrument of signs and wonders without a healthy conscience. If you don’t possess a good conscience, you cannot be an instrument for signs and wonders. The impact you make is determined by your conscience.

Gehazi, Elisha’s servant could not produce signs and wonders with Elisha’s rod despite the anointing the rod carried. This was due to Gehazi’s bad conscience.

2 Kings 4:31  And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, the child is not awaked.

In 2Kings 5:20-27, Gehazi exposed himself as a man of unhealthy conscience when he collected money from Naman after he was healed of leprosy. Gehazi’s heart was for money and personal benefits and he ended up with leprosy. The anointing of Elisha could therefore not work in his hands. Elisha took over from Elijah and had twice the anointing but Gehazi had leprosy instead of the anointing.

Acts 24:16  And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

Acts 19:11  And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul.

God performed miracles through Paul because Paul had a clear conscience. The truth is that without a healthy conscience, you can never be in command. A bad conscience makes you walk in deceit while a healthy conscience makes you please God and constantly enjoy His presence.

The journey to glory begins with love. It is an important catalyst to living in the miraculous that would eventually herald your impact. God is not faith, hope, prayer, fasting, healing, prophecy, word of knowledge, neither is He word of wisdom. God is love!

1 John 4:8  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Possessing the nature of love is simply possessing God’s nature. When you walk in love, you walk in the nature of God. When you walk in love, you walk in the miraculous without sweat. To work in the supernatural, you must walk in love. The degree of your love for God determines the dimension of your operation in the supernatural because it takes the nature of love to flow in the miraculous.

When you want God to intervene in your life, thank Him first and you will see the supernatural hand of God.

John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

To raise Lazarus from the dead, Jesus gave thanks first. Anything can happen when you give God thanks.

Philippians 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

You can receive the promises of God when you live a life of thanksgiving.

No matter the prevailing situation it will be surmounted on the platter of thanksgiving. It is only men of gratitude that scale altitudes and become people of impact.  It is time to walk in the miraculous in Jesus Name!

God bless you

The Kind Of Men A Christian Woman Should Not Marry Pt 2

0
  1. THE BUM:

I have a female friend who realized after she married her boyfriend that he had no plans to find steady work. He had devised a great strategy: He stayed home all day and played video games while his professional wife worked and paid all the bills. The apostle Paul told the Thessalonians, “If anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either” (2 Thess. 3:10). The same rule applies here: If a man is not willing to work, he doesn’t deserve to marry you.

  1. THE NARCISSIST:

I sincerely hope you can find a guy who is handsome. But be careful: If your boyfriend spends six hours a day at the gym and regularly posts closeups of his biceps on Facebook, you have a problem. Do not fall for a self-absorbed guy. He might be cute, but a man who is infatuated with his appearance and his own needs will never be able to love you sacrificially, like Christ loves the church (Eph. 5:25). The man who is always looking at himself in the mirror will never notice you.

  1. THE ABUSER:

Men with abusive tendencies can’t control their anger when it boils over. If the guy you are dating has a tendency to fly off the handle, either at you or others, don’t be tempted to rationalize his behavior. He has a problem, and if you marry him you will have to navigate his minefield every day to avoid triggering another outburst. Angry men hurt women—verbally and sometimes physically. Find a man who is gentle.

  1. THE MANCHILD:

Call me old-fashioned, but I’m suspicious of a guy who still lives with his parents at age 35. If his mother is still doing his cooking, cleaning and ironing at that age, you can be sure he’s stuck in an emotional time warp. You are asking for trouble if you think you can be a wife to a guy who hasn’t grown up. Back away and, as a friend, encourage him to find a mentor who can help him mature.

  1. THE CONTROL FREAK:

Some Christian guys today believe marriage is about male superiority. They may quote Scripture and sound super-spiritual, but behind the façade of husbandly authority is deep insecurity and pride that can morph into spiritual abuse. First Peter 3:7 commands husbands to treat their wives as equals. If the man you are dating talks down to you, makes demeaning comments about women or seems to squelch your spiritual gifts, back away now. He is on a power trip. Women who marry religious control freaks often end up in a nightmare of depression.

If you are a woman of God, don’t sell your spiritual birthright by marrying a guy who doesn’t deserve you. Your smartest decision in life is to wait for a man who is sold out to Jesus.

The Kind Of Men A Christian Woman Should Not Marry Pt 1

0

Don’t settle for less than God’s best. Too many Christian women today have ended up with the wrong person because impatience pushed them into an unhappy marriage. Please take my fatherly advice: You are much better off single than with the wrong guy!

Speaking of “wrong guys,” here are the top 10 men you should avoid when looking for a husband:

  1. THE UNBELIEVER:

Please write 2 Corinthians 6:14 on a Post-it note and tack it on your computer at work. It says, “Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?” (NASB). This is not an outdated religious rule. It is the Word of God for you today.

Don’t allow a man’s charm, looks or financial success (or his willingness to go to church with you) push you to compromise what you know is right. “Missionary dating” is never a wise strategy. If the guy is not a born-again Christian, scratch him off your list. He’s not right for you. I’ve yet to meet a Christian woman who didn’t regret marrying an unbeliever.

  1. THE LIAR:

If you discover that the man you are dating has lied to you about his past or that he’s always covering his tracks to hide his secrets from you, run for the nearest exit. Marriage must be built on a foundation of trust. If he can’t be truthful, break up now before he bamboozles you with an even bigger deception.

  1. THE PLAYBOY:

I wish I could say that if you meet a nice guy at church, you can assume he’s living in sexual purity. But that’s not the case today. I’ve heard horror stories about single guys who serve on the worship team on Sunday but act like Casanovas during the week. If you marry a guy who was sleeping around before your wedding, you can be sure he will be sleeping around after your wedding.

  1. THE DEADBEAT:

There are many solid Christian men who experienced marital failure years ago. Since their divorce, they have experienced the Holy Spirit’s restoration, and now they want to remarry. Second marriages can be very happy. But if you find out that the man you are dating hasn’t been caring for his children from a previous marriage, you have just exposed a fatal flaw. Any man who will not pay for his past mistakes or support children from a previous marriage is not going to treat you responsibly.

  1. THE ADDICT:

Churchgoing men who have addictions to alcohol or drugs have learned to hide their problems—but you don’t want to wait until your honeymoon to find out that he’s a boozer. Never marry a man who refuses to get help for his addiction. Insist that he get professional help and walk away. And don’t get into a codependent relationship in which he claims he needs you to stay sober. You can’t fix him.

First Evangelical Church And Hope Center In Jima, Ecuador

One year ago I stood and prayed in an empty field that is now home to the first evangelical church and Hope Center in Jima, Ecuador. The second photo was taken during the laying of the foundation by Hope Crossings Church.

Some incredibly hardworking teams have helped make this possible. These teams have opened so many doors for the gospel to be shared.

Pictures 3 and 4 show the current condition of the building. There are no walls, electricity, or bathrooms, but as you can see in picture 5, a very small group of believers is now gathering in their new home, despite the circumstances.

There is much to be done to finish the construction of the building and furnish it.

Jima has the highest suicide rate in all of Ecuador.

There is little hope here, but we are seeing Jesus and His church be a light in the darkness.
