Pastor Brian Houston protests inconsistent Covid Regulations

Hillsong founder, Pastor Brian Houston has criticised the NSW government’s coronavirus rules, claiming they are inconsistent and discriminate against church gatherings.

Pastor Brian Houston shared his opinion via social media on Monday saying that church services were being limited, while other coronavirus restrictions are being eased.

The number of people allowed to worship in churches in NSW was capped at 100, regardless of the size of the building.

“We have a building with space for 4000 people yet can only have 100 in there,” he tweeted.

Pastor Brian mentioned in an interview on 2GB radio that he and the congregation want consistency as the New South Whales (NSW) government announced this week that 300 guests would be allowed at weddings from December.

“At the AFL grand final this week, 40,000 to 45,000 people will be hugging, shouting, spitting, high-fiving – it’s just the inconsistency of it,” Pastor Brian said. “Churches seem to be left behind.”

As a response to the complaints of Pastor Brian, the government of NSW has decided to relax restrictions on houses of worship. As of October 23, the number of people allowed to attend religious services will be increased from 100 to 300 as long as the house of worship has a COVID-19 safety plan and attendees provide contact details in case contact tracing is needed.

“Go over, Push Forward and Break Out”- Evangelist Dag challenges youth to cross borders

0

Early, on a Tuesday morning, Evangelist Dag-Heward Mills addressed young people globally to look beyond their current location to preach the Gospel.

Countries such as Serbia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Burma and China, should not be left untouched and also need the gospel. The Evangelist emphasised that the colour of someone’s skin should and would not be a hindrance to preach the gospel.

Although, some places might look distant or they are perceived as strong nations, that cannot be entered. The church has been able to break out and today there are no barriers, so young people can enter every country and preach the gospel, despite their background.

“Breaking out like fire” is a description of how God will use young people and how young people will be used by Him.

Bishop Dag said that you can find yourself in places that seem far-fetched through the love and guidance of God.

“We are giving our lives to the gospel!”

Supernatural Release -Eastwood Anaba

Jesus Christ revealed to His followers that there is joy in the presence of the angels of God when one sinner repents. If angels rejoice when a sinner is released from the shackles of sin and death, human beings should do the same. The Church is becoming so materialistic that it is losing its joy over spiritual things and souls. We must rekindle our joy in spiritual things.

Luke 4:18-19
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

We are in the days of the Jubilee. Our sins are forgiven, we are free from bondage, our diseases are healed and our lost possessions are restored to us. 1I wish to admonish believers that we have reasons to shout. The sound of Jubilee is loud and clear. We cannot continue looking defeated. We are not guilty rebels any longer. Our sins, no matter how grave, are forgiven. The words of Jesus Christ – “neither do I condemn thee” – are re-echoing in our time. It is wrong to hold others’ sins against them when God has freed us from ours.

Bitter and unforgiving believers are making the Church toxic. We must release those who have sinned against us. We should go a step further and release people who owe us money and other things if we can. If we owe things to people we should believe in God to release us from indebtedness. Believers must exercise faith in God to become debt free. In this Jubilee season, we are empowered and blessed to owe no man anything but to love people.

Prayer: Pray that the Lord will put in you a greater desire for spiritual things.

Beyond the Grave – Dag Heward-Mills

0

As a medical doctor, I have probably seen more people dying than the average man. With our high mortality rate in Africa, death is not a rare sight in some Ghanaian hospitals.

I remember my horror when, as a new medical student, I first entered the mortuary. The place was filled with the stench of death, and all around me were naked bodies of men, women and children. Some were young, others were old. Most had been struck down in the prime of life. Rich and poor lay side by side, all pride and dignity forgotten in this helpless state.

Really, I think everybody should at one stage in life, visit a mortuary. Then maybe we would realize the uselessness of this temporary life.

As the Bible says, “All is vanity”.

As medical students working at the Accident Centre, we could encounter up to ten fatalities from one road accident alone. It was very distressing, and made one wonder where all these souls were going.

When a man dies, his spirit leaves his body. Without the spirit the body is dead. When Jesus died on the cross, the Bible makes us to know that He yielded up the ghost. This means that He gave up the spirit. His spirit came out of His body.

Likewise, we learn in the seventh chapter of Acts that when Stephen was being stoned to death, he said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

We can see here that when a man dies, his spirit moves from one point to another. The spirit cannot be affected by physical death. So although the body itself decomposes and returns to dust, the spirit lives on eternally.

I have seen people die on hospital wards very often. You can almost see their spirits coming out of them as they gasp for their last breath. One minute they are alive, the next minute…they pop off. Gone!

But where do their spirits go? Let’s go beyond the grave and find out where they went. You see, according to God’s Word, there is an appointment we must all keep after death.

…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement:

Hebrews:9:27

Basically, this judgement is a time for separation: when Christ (our Judge) takes His own (those who have yielded their lives to Him), and casts the rebellious sinners into Hell.

…and HE SHALL SEPARATE THEM one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Matthew 25:32

Talking about unrepentant sinners, Jesus said:

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Matthew 25:46

The fact is, there are only two destinations beyond the grave HEAVEN AND HELL. The spirits of those who were righteous in Christ go to be with the Father in Heaven, while the spirits of those who rejected Jesus will be cast down to Hell.

Dear friend, there is more to life than marriage, money and your retirement home.

I know a man who has a special bank account for his burial. He has everything planned out carefully to the last detail. Others have given elaborate instructions concerning their coffins and their graves.

But that is where their plans end

Little do they realize that they are going beyond the grave!

The Shepherding Assignments: To Guide and To Lead – Dag Heward-Mills

0

1. A shepherd must lead his sheep by still waters.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he LEADETH ME BESIDE THE STILL WATERS. Psalms 23:2

2. A shepherd must lead his sheep to green pastures.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures…Psalms 23:2

3. A shepherd must guide his sheep through wilderness situations.

But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and GUIDED THEM IN THE WILDERNESS LIKE A FLOCK. And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased. Psalms 78:52-54

4. A shepherd must lead his people like a flock.

To lead the people like a flock speaks of learning the principles of leading large numbers of people with diverse opinions, backgrounds and beliefs. The art of shepherding is the art of leading people in spite of opposition from independent sheep, opinion leaders and rebellious people. It is also the art of leading people who are so many that you cannot talk to each one personally.

Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron. Psalm 77:20

The Great Mystery – Dag Heward-Mills

All over the world, funerals are held everyday. You probably attended one not long ago!

One sight which is common in every city, every town, and every village, is the funeral procession or burial service.

In my home city of Accra, Ghana, cemeteries get very busy at weekends. And though we would rather not think about it, funerals are a constant reminder that in the midst of life, death is ever present with us.

During memorial services, glowing tribute is paid to the dead (even if they were bad people)! We sob and show our grief with mournful church music in the background.

While attending a funeral at Mankessim (a small town on the south coast of Ghana), I had the opportunity to learn about some of the elaborate rituals performed for the dead. The corpse had several changes of clothing (more like a fashion show)!

Read Also https://charismatanews.org/dag-heward-mills-audio-catalog/

First, it was wrapped in Kente a rich, colourful, hand-woven cloth. Then it was dressed in a suit. Afterwards, in a Freemason’s uniform, etc.

In fact, there was a superfluous show of belated affection as friends and relations fussed over the corpse, stumbling over each other to pay their last respects. A new road leading to the funeral grounds had even been constructed. As you can see, funerals in Africa are BIG events!

Now like this man, many people known to us have died. Expired! Passed away! But…wait a minute!

Where did all these departed souls go? I mean our friends, relations and loved ones who died, “Where did they go?” Think about it. Did they just slip into their graves to “rest in peace”? Or did they vanish mysteriously elsewhere?

What happened to the victims of war in Bosnia, Rwanda and all the other war-torn parts of the world? And what happened to the many AIDS victims who died?

Can anyone tell me where our ancestors are right now?

One thing we know for sure is, they are no longer with us. So where did they go?

CfaN taking Tanzania by storm

As part of the two-year evangelism training program, several young people have been sent to Tanzania to prepare for the upcoming crusade in Tanzania.

The crusade is preceded by a three-week bootcamp whereby the young people are going for outreaches and ministering to the people in Arusha, one of the country’s biggest cities. One of them, Matias, said ‘We’re inhaling dust and exhaling the gospel’.

The young evangelists are being taken to remote places to outreach those who have never heard the gospel. The outreaches are held in schools, markets and other public places.

In three weeks, 165,000 people gave their lives to Christ.

Bill Ferguson, one of the evangelists, narrates one of his experiences during the three-week bootcamp:

“It has been an awesome and exciting time here on the mission field in Arusha, Tanzania. Our Bootcamp grads’ 2020 Initiation Trip under Evangelist Daniel Kolenda and Christ for all Nations, has been a life-changing experience. I would recommend Bootcamp 2021 for all evangelists to experience. This week I was preaching from the gospel trucks. One notable testimony happened when I went to pray for an older woman. I sensed the Holy Spirit wanted me to say to her that she had a curse over her life. I told her that Jesus is here to break the works of the devil and set her free. She told me that many times in her life she felt that there was a snake at the back of her neck, that curled around and went into her stomach. After I prayed for her, she said she felt the snake leave her body out of her neck and stomach. She was completely healed and afterwards gave Jesus all the glory! Also this week while we were preaching, a man came by and heard our gospel message. He then came over to the truck and gave his life to Jesus. He said he was in the hospital for months and could hardly walk on is legs. He went to a witch doctor who could not heal his legs. I prayed in the name of Jesus and Jesus broke the works of the devil over his life and he was completely healed. He testified that the witch doctor could not heal him; but that Jesus had healed him that day! When I was preaching on healing in the market this week, a number of people came up for healing. After I prayed for a group of people, then I felt to lay hands on them and pray. Many people were slain in the spirit. The power of God broke out and some were crying, and many testified that they were completely healed! God is awesome and praise His name!”.

The bootcamp is a great opportunity to answer the call of God and it is being led by Daniel Kolenda, a great evangelist who has led more than 22 million people to salvation.

The Awareness of the Anointing – Rev. Eastwood Anaba

0

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. – Acts 10:38

Many believers easily accept that others can do great things but do not believe they can too. In real life experience, the good in you is often challenged by fear and doubt. You know your personal weaknesses and doubts. You however, don’t know that the very people you admire as they move in the anointing have their own weaknesses also.

Elijah had his own fears and Jonah panicked when God sent him to Nineveh, yet they overcame their limitations and did the will of God. You can do likewise. The difference between you and the people you believe are more anointed than you is that they don’t allow their fears to dominate them. You however, confess your fear constantly and cry for attention.

The anointing lives in you. You are the temple of the Holy Ghost. You are the carrier of the anointing. Your feet, hands, eyes and mouth give expression to the anointing. It is therefore imperative for God to energise your life because if you are inactive, the anointing will not operate. If you understand that you and Christ are one, His anointing will flow through you.

Our main problem is that we separate ourselves from Christ but unite Him with others. We can never walk in the anointing if we don’t appreciate our unity with Christ. He is in us and we are in Him. He doesn’t struggle to operate in His power so we don’t have to struggle to operate in that power. Jesus Christ was anointed – “smeared” or “rubbed” with oil – to be consecrated into the office of ministering healing and deliverance.

The Spirit of the Lord was upon Jesus – God anointed Him to preach the Gospel to the poor, heal the broken hearted, preach deliverance to the captives, recover the sight of the blind, set at liberty those that were bruised and preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18-19).

Jesus Christ’s mandate was a demanding one. It was an assignment that required holiness, obedience, wisdom, faithfulness, power and sacrifice to fulfil. In spite of the enormous nature of His mission, the Lord Jesus Christ was not a weird person.

The manifestation of the anointing on Jesus Christ reveals the nature of the anointing believers should operate with. We should not struggle to flow in the anointing like the prophets of Baal did. They tortured themselves in a fruitless attempt to bring down fire from heaven. The prophet Elijah however, prayed a simple prayer and the fire came down (1 Kings 18:25-39).

Prayer: Pray for the constant awareness of the anointing in your life.

Catholic Church launches project to build capacities of rural women

0

About 1000 Women living along the Eastern Corridor enclave in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region are to be enrolled onto a platform meant to improve their entrepreneurial capacities.

The Promoting Resilience for Improved Income through Capacity Enhancement for Women (PRICE) project is also to ensure that they have improved access to economic empowerment opportunities and reduce gender inequalities in traditional communities.

The programme is targeting 1,000 women directly and about 28,000 indirect beneficiaries and is expected to increased rights, urgency, and capacity for decision-making.

This is the second phase of the PRICE project, which also seeks to improve access to rural financial services for 1,468 rural women in the Eastern Corridor of the country and enroll them into Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA) groups where at least 800 of them would access loans and savings services from the VSLA.

It will also work to promote gender-sensitive practices towards reduced inequalities.

The PRICE project, which runs until May 2023, is an initiative of the Catholic Archdiocese of Tamale and sponsored by Misereor, an organisation based in Germany.

Very Reverend Matthew Yitiereh, Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Tamale, who launched the PRICE project on behalf of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Tamale, at Kpandai, said it was in line with the Church’s human development efforts to make lives better.

Access to financial services is very low among women along the Eastern Corridor of the country and they are unable to raise the needed collateral to enable them access loans from the formal financial institutions.

Their capacity in enterprise development also is very low.

There is also inequality between men and women in the area and domestic violence was predominant in homes and communities where women are not economically empowered.

Through the PRICE project, therefore, about 15,000 community members will be sensitised on gender equity promotion and at least two men volunteers will serve as gender models and advocates in each community to amongst others reduce gender-based violence by 70 percent in project communities.

The first phase of the PRICE project ensured improved access to economic empowerment opportunities for some 250 vulnerable women and promotion of gender-sensitive practices in 10 communities targeting about 1,000 people in the broader context of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Very Reverend Yitiereh expressed confidence that through the project, women along the Eastern Corridor enclave would be empowered to better manage their resources for the benefit of all.

He expressed gratitude to Misereor for funding the project, saying the funds would be judiciously applied to ensure that they ultimately developed the beneficiaries and the Church.

Reverend Father Sebastian Zaato, Manager of the PRICE project said the project amongst others would improve financial literacy among the beneficiaries, increase their capacities to undertake sustainable entrepreneurial ventures, and further bridge the inequality gap between men and women in traditional communities.

Rev Zaato added that the project was anchored on the transformative principle of the SDGs, which stipulated that all development efforts must ensure that “No one is left behind.”

Mr Emmanuel Tatablata, District Chief Executive for Kpandai, who was represented during the launch, commended the Catholic Archdiocese of Tamale for initiating the project in the area to better the lives of women.

Mr Tatablata said he was convinced that the Assembly would create the enabling environment to ensure the success of the project, which would empower the people for self-development in line with the government’s Ghana Beyond Aid agenda.

Some of the beneficiaries of the first phase of the PRICE project praised it for helping them to identify opportunities and understand business management where they were generating enough income to take care of their families.

Madam Esther Nsiadong, one of the beneficiaries of the first phase of the project, was optimistic that the second phase would further sustain their gains and put them on the path of economic freedom.
