Praise: A Weapon Of Warfare

We are always engaged in battles and the greatest weapon of our warfare apart from holiness is praise. When you are going to war against odds that are far too great for you, the only way to win is by praising God.

That was the strategy of Jehoshaphat. He knew that there was no way he could have defeated three great kings, so instead of calling a meeting with the general of his army to plot strategies, he went to God in praise.

“And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?” – 2 Chronicles 20:6

These were Jehoshaphat’s words to the Most High God. There is no way God would hear such words of praise from His child and not pay attention to the fellow. When Jehoshaphat was through, God told him: Don’t worry boy, I will fight this battle Myself. When you pray, you fight your battles, but when you praise, God fights for you. On the day of the battle, Jehoshaphat appointed singers, not soldiers to go to the battle field. Today’s memory verse says:

“And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.”

By the time they got to the battlefield all their enemies were already destroyed; all they had to do was to take the spoils of war. As you sing and praise God henceforth, all your enemies will be destroyed.

If you have already been captured by the enemy, put in prison and bound, the only way to get out is by praise. If you don’t believe me, ask Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25-34). When you are in any impossible situation, deploy the weapon of praise. Praise has never failed me before. It will not fail you either, in the mighty name of Jesus.

How To Neutralize Curses – The Reality Of Curses

Therefore hath THE CURSE DEVOURED THE EARTH, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. Isaiah 24: 6

Notice from the scripture above that it is curses that devour the earth and not demons or evil spirits.

1. Modern Christians must have a proper respect for curses.

Then shall I not be ashamed, WHEN I HAVE RESPECT unto all thy commandments. Psalm 119: 6

Modern Christians are more aware of evil spirits and devils than they are of curses. Modern Christians respect the reality of demons but do not fear and respect the reality of curses.

It is my prayer that as you read this book, you will develop a proper and healthy respect for the reality of curses. I believe in the reality of demons, evil spirits and devils. I bind them daily and I cast them out of my life. I have written many books about demons. However, I also believe that curses are the real reason why these evil spirits have the chance to work and cause frustration, evil and death. It is evil spirits that implement curses! Curses provide the legal framework for evil spirits to carry out their wickedness. Curses are real whether you believe in their existence or not!

You must begin to have respect for the presence of curses which determine and fashion human life as we know it today! Most of what we are experiencing today are determined by curses and blessings that were spoken years ago. Indeed, one of the chief characteristics about heaven is that there will be no more curse.

… but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, NEITHER HAD RESPECT unto him that fashioned it long ago. Isaiah 22: 11

2. It is the duty of a minister of God to point out curses when they are present.

It is not wrong for a pastor to detect the presence of a curse. Do not fight the word of God! Do not deny the existence of a curse when the word of God says so. It is not wrong for a pastor to say or to declare that a person or a group of people are laboring under a curse! It is indeed the responsibility of a good minister of God to identify curses when God shows them to him. Listen to what the prophet Malachi said to the people of Israel. He said to them, “You are cursed with a curse!” He was not wrong in pointing out the curse. He was right in identifying that a curse was real and present. It is only when you point out a curse that it can be overcome. If you deny that the curse exists, how will you ever fight against it or neutralize it?

YE ARE CURSED with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Malachi 3: 9

3. Do not be offended when a curse is identified and pointed out.

In the days of Malachi, the people of God were not to be offended when he informed them about the presence of a curse. Do not be offended with what I am writing in this book about curses that affect different groups of people. I am not writing these things to put down any group of people but to identify the curse so that you can neutralize it. A large part of this book is dedicated to neutralizing and overcoming the curse. Do not let me become your enemy because I share with you the truth in God’s word about curses and blessings.

Just as the prophet Malachi spoke the truth and told the people that they were under a curse, I am also sharing with you about the presence of the curse.

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? Galatians 4: 16

4. Every curse can be neutralized.

I believe that every curse can be neutralized! I am writing this book so that everyone who is open to the word of God will recognize the curse and overcome it through the wisdom of God. How can you neutralize something if you say it does not exist? Your denial of its existence is your greatest weakness!

Do not use the teachings of this book to degrade, insult or humiliate any group of people. That is wrong. Use the teachings of this book to lift up people out of all identified curses.

This is a book of hope! It is a book of victory! It is a book that declares your superiority over curses through the wisdom and power of God. I believe that every group of people in the world – the rich, the poor, men, women, Jews, non-Jews, blacks and whites are respected by God and have the opportunity to escape and overcome every withering curse that is at work in their lives. God respects you and expects you to rise up and be great.

Do not use this book to cheat, enslave or rob anyone. You are cursed if you do so! Please use this book to overcome, to neutralize, to obliterate and to quench all types of curses that may be working in your life. Read the scripture below and take heart in God’s will for your equality with all men and your victory over all curses.

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS: But IN EVERY NATION HE THAT FEARETH HIM, AND WORKETH RIGHTEOUSNESS, IS ACCEPTED with him. Acts 10: 34 – 35

Why God Does Not Heal Everyone Pt. 3

God Is Not against Medicine

Unfortunately, extreme faith teachings have given the impression that God is against medicine.  They have left us with the impression that God would like to replace all medical personnel with pastors.  They left us with a feeling that to take medicine was sinful or unspiritual.

There was a time when many people were being healed through the faith revival.  At that time, many ministers would not touch medicine.  It was unheard of for a truly spiritual person to use medicine.

I heard of a church in which over forty-five people died because they refused to take medicine.  There were little children who needed medication, but because of their parents’ belief in faith healing, they rejected all medicine for their children.  Eventually, the pastor himself became ill but refused medication.  By and by, he was brought to church in a wheel chair, still refusing medical help until he died.

This kind of thing throws the healing ministry into confusion. This is why many have turned away from the healing ministry.  In spite of the confusion, you cannot discount the reality of God’s healing power.

We Don’t Understand Everything!

God is not trying to replace hospitals and doctors with pastors and evangelists.  God gave the wisdom for medical science.  The two streams of healing are ordained of God and are not contrary to each other.  The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the power and the wisdom of God.

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1: 24

Jesus comes to help you by being the power and the wisdom of God in your life.   Christians become unbalanced when they just take the power of God and leave out the wisdom.  You need both the power and the wisdom.  Medical science can transplant hearts today and solve many problems.  Many children would be dead from various diseases like malaria, convulsions, and measles if there were no medicines.

God has given us the wisdom to think and to have common sense.  One time, Jesus told His disciples to go aside and rest awhile.

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. Mark 6:31

Why did Jesus tell His disciples to rest?  Because there are many diseases that come from not resting.  It is common sense to rest when you need to.   Jesus ministered to the sick but He did sensible and practical things too.

Accept that God Is Mysterious

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29

I cannot explain why divine healing takes place the way it does.  The Bible says the secret things belong to the Lord but those that are revealed belong to us.  

Again the Scriptures tell us that we look through a glass dimly.  This means that when you look through a glass, you cannot see things clearly.  It is not everything we know and we shouldn’t pretend to know everything because we do not.  We definitely do not understand everything because we are looking through a glass.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Corinthians 13:12

Why God Does Not Heal Everyone Pt. 2

3.  God does not heal everyone because some people even hate you after they see miracles.

If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. John 15:24

4.  God does not heal everyone because people require different catalysts to help them believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 1 Corinthians 1:22

5. God does not heal everyone because God has determined that people should be saved by preaching and not by miracles.

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1 Corinthians 1:21

There are some common misconceptions that exist about the healing ministry.  Without understanding these, they will linger in our minds and influence our thinking.

Dear minister of God, keep on preaching; just keep on preaching!  Evangelise and tell the truth because it is the method by which God has determined that people should be saved.

We may see the power of God but we must understand that God is not trying to take away our common sense.  We know that He is not trying to eradicate medicine.  We know that He is not trying to outdo doctors.  Above all we know that He is not replacing the need for powerful preaching of the gospel.  

God has His reasons for healing.  Decide today to allow preaching to affect you.  Decide to believe in the simplicity of the preaching of the Word.

…  And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21

As you can see, the people in this Scripture refused to repent in spite of all that happened to them.  God knows that people will not repent even when they see certain things. We need to believe the preaching of the Word when we hear it.  We do not have to look for signs before we believe.

6. God does not heal everyone because many people believe in the Word of God even without seeing miracles.

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20:29    

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.  But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done. John 11:45-46

It is true that God heals so that people will believe.  But on the other hand, there are people who believe the Word of God without seeing anything.

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20:29

There are many people who don’t see any miracle but believe in God.  But there are some people who have to see a sign before they believe.  Maybe there are people who have to be on their deathbeds before they believe in God.  Some people have to lose everything before they succumb to God’s love.

There are people who only get saved in prison.  But you don’t have to wait for that.   Blessed are those who have not seen any of these things but yet believe.

The reality is that not everyone who sees miracles believes in God.

7. God does not heal everyone because He is not trying to eradicate sicknesses from the world.

Some people think that God is trying to eradicate sickness from the world through preachers.  God is not trying to remove the diseases of this world through anointed ministers.  His anointed apostles and prophets are not agents for the eradication of all known illnesses.  If that were so, then God has failed in his quest to do so.  I want you to read this passage:

And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.  And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. Acts 3:9-11

You will notice that this man had been laid at this Beautiful Gate of the temple for many years.  The Bible says he had been lame from his mother’s womb.  His family and relatives had carried him there many times to ask for alms from those who entered the temple.

A few weeks earlier, Jesus Himself had been walking through this Beautiful Gate of the temple.  He had preached in this temple many times.  Why didn’t Jesus heal this man Himself?  Why didn’t Jesus eradicate all diseases from Jerusalem?  If God is trying to eradicate illnesses from the world, why did Jesus not heal this cripple when He was here?  Obviously, God does not seem to have that goal.

I have watched as many people go back from miracle services still sick. There have been documentaries that are highly critical of evangelists.  One of the chief criticisms is about the many people who remain unhealed at their services.

In London, there was even a demonstration by cripples against a famous healing evangelist.  How come cripples would demonstrate against a man of God?

This confusion comes about because we do not understand what God is doing and what He is not trying to do.  Jesus Christ Himself explained why He healed only one man at the Pool of Bethesda.

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. John 5:19-20

Do not be disappointed when God does not heal everyone.  Do not be angry with God when only one out of several sick people is healed.  Jesus said, “I and my Father are one, and He that has seen me has seen the Father.”

…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father… John 14:9

Jesus is not trying to heal everybody.  But He is trying to save every soul.  Jesus gave His life for the whole world.  He invited everyone to Heaven.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).   Everlasting life does not depend on the healing of your kidney, your liver, your blood, your skin or your eyes.

When Jesus walked on this Earth, He knew there were many reasons why people were sick.  He knew there were many reasons why God healed and equally many reasons why God didn’t heal.

Understand God’s plan.  God is trying to give you everlasting life.  Jesus came to give you everlasting life.  He loves us very much and He does not want any of us to perish.

The devil is the one ruling the world today. He causes the diseases and the sicknesses in this world.

Jesus cast out devils from many of the people that He healed.

So many problems are caused by the devil. Until you get to the root of the problem you often do not get them solved.

This is why Jesus is in the healing business. This is why we believe in healing. We can never stop believing in healing.

I want to encourage you to believe in miracles because miracles are real.

 Jesus is the Sun of righteousness with healing in His wings.

For millions around the world, the coronavirus is bringing day-to-day routines to a halt. As we face an unpredictable future, what’s something tangible you can do in response? Franklin Graham shared the following thoughts Monday on Facebook. 

Many years ago, the great writer and theologian A.W. Tozer made this profound statement, “A scared world needs a fearless church.”

That is so true. During this time with the coronavirus, fear is gripping the hearts of people around the world. There is a mountain of anxiety and alarm, and it is still building. It is as real as the virus itself—but it is treatable.

There are people in need that we can reach out to help. Like a fireman runs to the fire, the church needs to respond to crises around us. We who are the church need to stand up and be the hands and feet of the Lord Jesus Christ.

During these days of less group activity and gatherings, we could all take time to call and check on the elderly or others who are alone. Maybe you could offer to drop off some food or necessities they might need. Talking with someone on the phone, listening to what they are going through, and most importantly, praying with them, could change not only their day, but their entire outlook.

We need to share the “reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). Jesus Christ is our hope, our anchor, our comfort, and our peace. Let’s share His love with as many people as we can, making every day count. Christians, God can use you.

The virus isn’t the only thing that’s contagious. What if we had an outbreak of people helping people and a sweeping eruption of prayer?

Ghana Charismatic Bishops Conference Responds To The Cessation Of Church Activities In Ghana

The Government has issued a number of releases in line with managing the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference has noted the travel bans, and the restrictions on a wide range of socio-economic activities in the country in an effort to forestall any further spread of the Coronavirus disease in the country, a part of the wider global effort being championed by the World Health Organization.

We commend the President of the Republic for responding to the public’s need for leadership and direction at such a time of heightened public anxiety and fears. We believe many of the tactics put in place will forestall the further spread of the disease.

The Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference has, however, noted a number of lapses, that as we try to bring this pandemic under control as a society, we will like to draw the Government’s attention to.

It is important that these concerns are addressed for the measures being implemented to have their full measure in preventing the further spread of the Coronavirus pandemic among Ghanaians.

i. The notices from the Government do not mention the closure of night clubs, restaurants, shopping malls, busy offices banks, drinking spots, chop bars, lorry stations and markets. Such entities have been noted in other country’s experience, France being a good example, where the pandemic has not been controlled as such enterprises have remained opened. To only ask for the closure of churches and places of worship, is a rather biased view of the society and does not improve much the odds of getting the disease under control.

ii. We find it unfortunate that, markets and other like businesses, which are known to have some of the most unsanitary conditions in the country have been missed from the list of public places to be closed.

iii. Places of intense social interactions have been excluded from the bans. Trotros, buses, funeral grounds, football parks, drinking spots, bars, barbering shops, and hair-dressing salons are places of intense social interactions where the disease may spread further without bans. These must be included for the mooted bans to be effective.

iv. We find it unfortunate that important church groupings such as the Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference, National Association of Charismatic & Christian Churches, and Ghana Pentecostal Council have not been engaged in the making of this announcement. The arbitrary closure of churches and places of worship without consultation or discussion for 4 weeks, smacks of a disregard of the importance of the church’s role in the country. This disregard of the place of this powerful social and religious institution, to which over 70% of Ghanaians belong, is wrong.

v. Churches own and run a significant part of the health infrastructure and hospitals in the nation. As the announcement has gone forth to close down activities of these churches, shall we assume that the health facilities which these churches run are also to close down?

vi. By this communique, we the Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference, are calling on the Government to close all centres of intense social interaction without fear or favor, and not to discriminate by closing down churches, schools and institutions which they deem frivolous or dispensable in the society. We continue to pray for the nation to be delivered from the plagues and pestilences, and epidemics, and the pandemics, and for God to have mercy on us.

We commend all Ghanaians to the protection of Psalm 91:

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the [a]fowler

And from the perilous pestilence.

4 He shall cover you with His feathers,

And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and [b]buckler.

5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,

Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,

Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
