Believers Across North Carolina Coming Together To Pray

0
Starting Monday, September 9, Christians from North Carolina’s coast to its Blue Ridge Mountains attended community-wide prayer meetings ahead of next month’s Decision America Tar Heel Tour.

These gatherings in eight North Carolina cities precede an evangelistic tour with Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and Samaritan’s Purse. Along with the presentation of the Gospel, Christian musical artists Jeremy Camp and Dennis Agajanian will lead powerful worship. The Decision America Tour runs October 1–13, with stops in Fayetteville, Greenville, Wilmington, Raleigh, Greensboro, Hickory, Charlotte and Asheville.

Wilmington, North Carolina, will host the tour’s first prayer meeting on September 9. In each city, Freddy Washington—former worship leader at The Brooklyn Tabernacle—will lead worship and prayer that many come to know Jesus in each city.

“The most critical thing you can do is pray, pray, pray,” said Franklin Graham. “The intercession of God’s people is crucial if we are to see a return to the Biblical faith of our fathers, the faith that has guided and sustained our country for so long.”

Big Sky, No Limits for Christ

Will Graham began—and ended—Sunday night’s message talking about “Last chance … a term guys know well in Helena.”

Last Chance Gulch, where gold was found in 1864, is now the town’s main street. So Will Graham wasn’t shy about bringing up the concept, especially in regards to dealing with eternity.

“This could be your last chance,” he said, moments before extending the invitation. “I’m not trying to scare you, but you never know if you’ll have this chance again.”

His passionate plea for Montana residents to open their hearts to Jesus resonated as subsequent waves of people responded to the Gospel.

Hundreds made life-changing decisions for Christ over three days in Helena. More than 4,500 heard the Good News over three nights at the fairgrounds with more than 17,000 watching live online around the world.

“Maybe you feel like you have no purpose in your life, no meaning,” Graham said. “Let me tell you—God has a purpose for your life.”

Carrol Dupuy, Debbie Rauber and Pam Kiffer heard about the Big Sky Celebration at their church in Lincoln, roughly 50 miles from the fairgrounds. But, in Debbie’s words, “There was no hesitation. As soon as we heard about it, we were in.”

The three carpooled to the Celebration and by the end of the weekend, as crew members tore down chairs and started to dismantle the stage, there was a sense that God put them in this place for such a time as this.

“We are so blessed and so honored to do this,” Debbie said. “It was very moving. I could feel the Spirit in here.”

A young mom named Brianna, who is raising three sons by herself, brought them all Sunday evening and heard Will Graham offering a “fresh start” to those who surrender to God.

“I felt Will explained the Gospel very well,” Debbie said later. “It was very clear.”

Debbie ended up talking with Brianna, who gave her life to Christ. The mom’s two oldest sons, ages 5 and 7, also came forward and talked with Carrol.

“The two brothers accepted Jesus into their heart,” Carrol said with a huge smile. “It was a wonderful experience.”

And as for the long-term effects of the Celebration, the trio thinks it will go a long way.

“Helena needs Jesus,” Carrol said. “Lincoln needs Jesus. All of Montana needs Jesus.”

A Master Of Circumstances? – Pt. 2

1
Daniel 4:35 says, “And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?”

From this Bible passage, it is clear that God is unquestionably in charge. He does as He pleases in the distribution of His mercy, blessings and favour. He gives strength, makes great, promotes and gives knowledge and wisdom, all at His pleasure.

The Lord controls the hearts of kings, and He also controls times and seasons. He deposes kings and installs others in their place. He is the source of every element in creation, the fountain of life and the fountain of goodness from whom all blessings flow.

All hail the true Master of the universe, the Redeemer of mankind and the Saviour of the whole world! Our God can empower anyone He likes to become a master of circumstances of life. He gave Joshua the power to control the sum and the moon; He gave His prophets the power to see into the future and control rain from heaven at will; He gave the apostles the power to heal the sick and raise the dead, and He also gave them authority over demonic powers and natural elements of life.

This same God is ready to give you power and authority over all circumstances of life today if you are ready to become a willing tool in His hands. Are you ready to surrender your all to Him?

Faith Secrets

0

This exciting and in-depth study on the subject of ‘faith’ is sure to be of interest to any one whose desire is to please God. For, without faith it is impossible to please God, the Bible says. This is the reason why this book is a must-read for everyone with a desire to please God. If faith made Abraham a friend of God, then faith is very important in our walk with God.

Are you a man of faith and power? Obeying God makes you a man of faith.

Faith is equated with obedience in the Bible. A man of faith is a man who walks in obedience. If you obey the call of God, you are a man of faith!

You cannot fulfil your ministry without walking by faith. To walk with God whom you cannot see, you must have a lot of faith. Faith is obedience and obedience is faith! Faith is equated with obedience. So who has faith? An obedient person has faith. Obeying God is the exercising of your faith. If you are obedient, you are a man of faith.

Christians must value the need to walk by faith and live by faith. Christians must value the need to walk by obedience and live by obedience! If you obey things that God tells you to do, then you are a man of faith.

You can see from the following examples that obeying God makes you a man of faith.

  1. The Israelites’ obedience to the commandment would have been faith in action.

And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at Kibroth-hattaavah, ye provoked the Lord to wrath. Likewise when the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the Lord your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice. Deuteronomy 9:22-23

  1. When you do not believe, you are disobedient.

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 1 Peter 2:7-8

  1. When you are walking in faith, you obey what you are told.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: Hebrews 11:8-9

  1. Not obeying and not trusting are one and the same thing.

Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; SHE TRUSTED NOT in the Lord; she drew not near to her God. Zephaniah 3:1-2

This book is a treasure! Discover the secrets needed to walk and live by faith. Unveil the faith secrets you need to accomplish the impossible in your life!

Finnish Politician Under Investigation For Citing Romans To Oppose LGBT Pride

0
A Christian member of Finland’s parliament is under investigation after she cited the New Testament on social media to voice her objection to the Lutheran church’s participation in an LGBT pride event.
The Helsinki Times reports that the Helsinki Police Department has opened pre-trial investigations into remarks made by parliament members Päivi Räsänen and Hussein al-Taee, a Shia Muslim.

The police department said in a news release that the two members of parliament have been accused of “agitating against an ethnic group.”

In June, Räsänen, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and former chair of the Christian Democrats, took to Facebook to criticize her denomination’s participation as an official partner of the Helsinki Pride parade.

“How does the church’s doctrine, the Bible, fit together with the cause where shame and sin are raised as a topic of pride?” Räsänen, the former minister of the interior, asked in a June 17 post.

Räsänen, 59, cited Romans 24-27 and posted a picture of the passage from the Bible.

The passage reads: “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”

ELCF is the largest Christian denomination in Finland with over 5 million members.

On Friday, the police department told the daily online newspaper that Räsänen’s post suggested that LGBT pride events were sinful and shameful.

According to the police department’s news release, Finnish Criminal Code defines “agitation against a ethnic group” as making publicly available any information or opinion that “threatens, defames or defames a group based on race, color, descent, national or ethnic origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or disability.”

Agitating an ethnic group is punishable by a fine or two years imprisonment.

In a tweet, Räsänen said she is not concerned about the investigation.

“I am not worried about myself, as I trust that this will not go to the prosecutor,” the translation of her tweet reads, adding that she “hopes this does not lead to Christian self-censorship.”

Räsänen is no stranger to controversy as she has become known as a prominent Finnish defender of traditional Christian views on marriage, euthanasia and abortion.

As Evangelical Focus notes, Räsänen’s views are often more conservative than those in the ECLF leadership.
