And A Great Revival Broke Out!

0

On Day 3 of the Global Ministers’ Conference, we had the pleasure of experiencing the Sovereign and Supernatural God moving in the midst of His people. It was a great revival and an indescribable experience!

It was spontaneous, unstructured, and extemporaneous. It all started with the singing of some theme songs during the praises session, that was led by Overseer Fred Amoakohene, backed by the ever-green Elder Dr. Emmanuel Kwasi Mireku, with his trademark “Halleluiah! Halleluiah!” chants.

All of a sudden, the unexpected happened. The atmosphere changed and became very charged. The Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, and the immediate past Chairman, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah (retired) stepped onto the dance floor and danced joyfully to the Lord. They were joined by Members of the Executive Council and the other senior ministers on the platform.

Amidst the wild celebrations and dancing, one could not have missed the rare sight of Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah going beyond the usual swaying of his fist to actually join-in in the dancing.

It was a glorious scene, one that was reminiscent of the celebrations that greeted the election of Apostle Eric Nyamekye as the Chairman of the Church at the 42nd General Council Meeting.

One might wonder if this is the beginning of the PCC revival that the Chairman passionately called for on the opening day of the programme.

This great revival goes to affirm that there is indeed something divine about this vision of possessing the nations which stirs up the spirit of God on the “inside”.

Church, the revival has just begun, let us brace ourselves for the great task ahead.

The Word of God Is God

0

One of the extraordinary ways the Lord manifests Himself is in and through the Word. The Word of God created the universe. The Word of God is life. The Word of God is power. The Word of God is light. The Word of God is truth. The Word of God is God. Where the Word of God is, God is!

The Word of God isn’t like the word of a man. Centering your mind on the Word is centering your mind on God. The Bible says He keeps in perfect peace—peace of prosperity—the one whose mind is stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3). The way to stay your mind on Him is meditating on the Word.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1).

The Holy Spirit never does anything without the Word. Don’t ignore the Word; some Christians ignore the Word, and that’s so unwise. What you need for your next level or that miracle and promotion you so desire; what you need to prevail in any crisis and live victoriously every day, is the Word.

When you face challenges, when things get tough and rough, keep your confidence in the Word. Refuse to compromise. Get radical with your faith-affirmation and confession of the Word. As you speak, the Spirit will cause things to happen in accordance with your words, because the Word of God in your mouth is God talking!

It’ll always prevail.

The World’s Largest Church Auditorium (Hand Of God Cathedral) To Be Ready By January 2020

0

Finally, a tentative completion date has been set for the latest mega church project in Christendom. Ps David Ibiyeomie’s led Salvation Ministries’ Church Headquarters – ‘The Hand of God Cathedral’.

During the recently concluded 5 Nights of Glory held from Jan 21 to 24, the 56 year old pastor announced that the next edition of the annual program which holds every January will hold at the new church auditorium situated along Airport Road, Igwuruta, Port Harcourt in River State.

The project which began in 2010 was initially projected to carry 40,000 worshipers. However, with the massive expansion of the Church which led to the opening of over 50 satellite churches in Port Harcourt including opening 13 in one single day in 2016, coupled with the prodding by David Ibiyeomie’s father in the Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo to do ‘better than his father’, Ibiyeomie was encouraged to expand capacity of the building.

It will be recalled that Bishop Oyedepo has told Pastor Enenche of Dunamis the same thing leading to an expansion of the Glory Dome project from 75,000 to 100,000 capacity.

Previous estimates of the Hand of God project had the expansion at 100,000 capacity but with plans to extend to about 120,000 and the metal roofing covering an area of 50,000m2 span which is more than double the span of the Glory Dome of Dunamis’ at 22,148m2, it is officially set to become the largest Church auditorium in the World.

The roofing project meeting was successfully concluded on April 10th, 2018, with Salvation Ministries OPMT and BV team going to the LF BJMB company in China to visit the factory where space frame structure for the structure was to be produced for the kickoff meeting of the project.

According to the Chinese company which is also in the process of building the tallest structure in the world, Hand of God is the biggest church in Nigeria and in fact the world.

The Hand of God Cathedral project consists of one 91m span central dome, five finger-shaped cylindrical structures which carry at least 20,000 people each and two fan-shaped roof structures. All the roof structures are space frame, covered with AL-Mg-Mn roofing sheet. The total project area is about 50,000M2, which can conveniently accommodate over 100,000 people at same time.

The hand of God cathedral is set to become a great landmark in not just Nigeria or Africa but in the world.

Benson Idahosa: The Man Who Vividly Described His Death – Part 2

On Thursday, the 12th March, 1998, Idahosa started the day as busy as always. In his office he asked for a cup of tea which he did not drink up. He told one of his staff members; ‘’I am going home’’. This was not strange. But when he repeated it unnecessarily, there was a reason to suspect the unusual but no notice was taken of it.

Later that afternoon, at lunch with his guests, he spoke about heaven. He asked them whether they believed it was possible for one to walk to heaven like Elijah did? He said he would prefer to be translated like Enoch and Elijah.

He told them he had a heavenly drink in his cup. He took the “pure heaven” juice on the table and drank from it, making a humorous statement about going to heaven. The drink tasted like heaven’s drink he told his guests. His high sense of humour was on parade.

On that day he had received “members of an educational foundation team from the U.S.-based Oral Roberts University” at the Christian Faith University after ministering in church. He excused himself to go to Miracle Centre, his Church office and prayed with different segments of people at the Church Office and including the Bible School students before he went back to meet his guests at home.

It was a busy period at the headquarters of CGMII, the Archbishop had just returned from one of his many tours, this time from the UK. Members of the Oral Robert University Educational Fellowship (OREF) were at the headquarters of Word of Faith Group of Schools for the yearly OREF program. They were led by Professor Don Petri, a friend of the Benson Idahosa University and a Professor of Christian Education at the Oral Robert University.

Both he and all the American participants at the conference were guests at the Archbishop’s home. It was an early afternoon and Idahosa and his guests were at the table. A characteristic humour of the Archbishop eliciting laughter and chatter punched with the lunch. It was a sumptuous meal and both local and international guests were satisfied. Then a fruit juice was passed around in packets of which were printed the brand name “pure heaven”.

The caption started another round of conversation. It was about heaven. Then suddenly, there was a hush as the archbishop broke into the good natured conversation and asked. “how many of you are ready to go to heaven right now? You see he continued; “all Christians talk about heaven and its beauty and desirability but not one is prepared to go there straight away”. I have news for you. I am prepared to go to heaven right now, anyone going with me? Everyone was silent.

The mood of the diners changed and went to their rooms. The Archbishop called for Professor Don Petri to join him in one of the mainly sitting rooms in the new Benson Idahosa University. He indicated those aspects of the master plan he had implemented and requested the professor to continue from where he was ending.

Yet Professor Don Petri did not understand the meaning of the Archbishop’s words. The Archbishop was the symbol of the university. It could not have entered the mind of anybody that he would be translated a few minutes after.

Shortly after he had spoken instructing a deaconess on what the guests should eat for dinner, he began to repeat the words ‘Thank you Jesus’ then suddenly threw his head back on the easy chair and gave up the ghost. Professor Don Petri did not immediately understand until he saw the body slumping off the chair then Don Petri rushed at him calling for help and laying him on the rug.

He tried all the resuscitation techniques that he knew but to no avail, they called for help from the Faith MediPlex but the doctors testified that from the moment he hissed that sigh of relief, he had clearly departed. His going was an air of finality which the doctors knew but could not admit.

He was not sick. He never had high blood pressure. He was never down.

Even the doctors were surprised that he died because he was not sick at all”.

“I MAY BE WITH PEOPLE AT HOME AND WHILE WE ARE TALKING, I WILL BE GONE JUST LIKE THAT. That will be a precious death”.

Archbishop Benson Idahosa, the undisputed prophet and apostle of Christendom in the twentieth century was gone.

The Lordship Of Love

0

Jesus loves you more than you could ever imagine. He’s more willing and concerned for your happiness, peace, and joy, than you could ever be for yourself. He knows all the gifts that you want in your life and every good thing you want for yourself, and He desires even more for you.

There’s no selfishness about Jesus; He’s God’s love personified and expressed to man. He’s the living love of God manifested to us. You don’t love yourself as much as “Love” loves you; He’s more ambitious for your success than you could ever be for yourself. When this becomes your consciousness, all your struggles will be over.

The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ:(He is Lord of all) (Acts10:36).

“Faith is for the now, Hope is for the Future and Love is for always”. – Pastor Chris in the message titled Faith Hope and Love

When you declared Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, He became your Master. Lord means master, possessor or owner. Some Christians don’t seem to realize this; they think Jesus is there to answer their prayers and give them whatever they want. They haven’t known Him as Lord. He being the Lord of your life means you exist for Him; He’s the One in charge of your life.

Benson Idahosa: The Man Who Vividly Described His Death – Part 1

March 12, 2018 was 20 years that the prophet, apostle of Christendom and ambassador of the gospel of Christ to the world, Benson Idahosa departed suddenly. He continues to speak loudly even in death. What many do not know is that he actually described in vivid terms how he was to depart when his time was over and that was exactly what happened on the day he died at the ripe young age of 59 years and 6 months.

“I will go when my work is finished; therefore when I am gone nobody should be double-minded concerning the will of God for my death. I am going to go by the will of God, not the will of witches or wizards. No man can kill me. Many have tried to hurt me spiritually and physically to no avail.

God has not given the key of the vault in which he has hidden me to any man or devil. He did not invest so much in me only to hand me over to the devil to fulfill his dark and unholy idiosyncrasies. I am indestructible by the grace of God, so are you if you know my Jesus. You know, here in Edo land, I do not know about you and where you come from, but here in Edo land, where I am from, when a man dies, the wife is always accused of having killed him.

I share a beautiful life with my wife Margaret, at least as beautiful as my human nature and God’s grace in my life can make it. She is not dreaming of killing me-she is the flesh of my flesh and bone of my bones, the wife of my youth and the mother of my lovely four children. No, when I go it will be by the will and call of God.

You may ask if I am preparing to die. Not at all. I hope to live for at least one hundred and twenty years. I look forward to when I will hobble into the church with my walking stick and sit back on my big chair to listen and watch my children in the ministry show forth the stuff which God has invested in them through the ministry of God committed to me.

But, and this is the big But… if the Lord calls me before then, if He calls me NOW, I am ready to answer ‘’Here I am O Lord’’ with joy and expectation because death is gain. Yes, yes! Ha, I see heaven open and the voice that I hear says ‘’Come up hither!’’

My going will be a Glorious one, I will NOT be sick and be taken from one hospital to the other. Like Elijah, whew! I will be gone before you can say Jack Robinson…

No. Nobody will mourn me with regret because of a prolonged illness. Nobody will have the pleasure of sympathising with me because of long suffering; that is one of the gifts which I do not have: the gift of Lo-o-ong suffering!

When my day comes, I may be sitting with people in the Church and will go when I hear the call like Rev. Gordon Lindsay did. It is a glorious way to depart.

I MAY BE WITH PEOPLE AT HOME AND WHILE WE ARE TALKING, I WILL BE GONE JUST LIKE THAT. That will be a precious death”.

Reflect Christ – Chairman Charges Christians At 2019 Global Ministers’ Conference

0

The 2019 Global Ministers’ Conference of The Church of Pentecost has begun at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) at Gomoa Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region.

The maiden conference, which has in attendance all ministers of the Church from 100 nations across the world, numbering about 3,000, started on Tuesday, January 22, and will end on Sunday, January 27, 2019, under the theme, “I Will Build My Church” (Matthew 16:18; Titus 2:13-14), which is the 2019 theme of the Church.

Opening the conference on Tuesday morning, the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, applauded the ministers for the exploits they are doing in bringing the world into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in their various duty stations around the globe in the face of the many challenges.

“The whole of our life is worship and we should live as such. There is no dichotomy between the sacred and the secular. Everything is worship and what is important is our interpretation and understanding of our worship,” he stated.

Speaking on the theme, “The Purpose of the Church”, Apostle Nyamekye stated that the Church has a dual purpose. “On the one hand, we are called out of the world to belong to God as priests. On the other hand, we are sent back into the world to witness and to serve as kings,” he said.

Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye

The Chairman, therefore, challenged Christians to seek to make worship a lifestyle since that would bear true testimony of God wherever they live to transform and impact the nations.

Apostle Nyamekye also challenged Christian leaders to move out from the comfort of the churches and go out to evangelize and win souls for the Church of God.

“Don’t hide in your church. Church is half time. Real time is on the field. As a pastor, go as a coach to equip the saints for the work of the nations. God does not think Church. God thinks nations,” the Chairman emphasised.

Apostle Nyamekye further called on the church to uphold high standards, inculcate true moral values that would determine the nations’ culture, saying, “We must be concerned! Our values and standards of the Kingdom of God should control the nations and permeate the whole fabric of our national culture.”

Dwelling on Jesus’ teachings about the Church in Matthew 5:13-16, Chairman Nyamekye said Christians are supposed to be different from the world and yet should not be socially segregated from the world.  He, therefore, charged Christians to be agents of influence and transform the society.

There Is Enough Room For You!

0

One day I observed two birds fighting over a scrap of meal. As I watched them, it occurred to me how we sometimes fight over little things, although there is enough room and opportunity for all of us. I thought about the abundance of food in the world and how there was scraps of food littered over the surface of the earth. They fought as if that was the only food left in the world.

The world is big and opportunities and room exist for all of us. Why do we fight over: one job, one girl, one position, one house, one dollar, one church, one opportunity as if that is the last?

Genesis 26:22
He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, “Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land.”

Isaac dug several wells which was contended over by the Philistines, and the men of Gerar. Instead of fighting over one well, he acknowledged there was more room to dig another well. He moved away and dug a new well each time.

The world is big, opportunities abound and God’s grace is limitless. Instead of fighting over one small thing move away and find new “room” for yourself.

Don’t whine forever over one relationship that ended. There are seven billion people on the earth.

There is “room” for everyone.

Riding On Prophetic Wings – Bishop David Oyedepo

0

The author also introduces the reader to how prophecies can be enforced; how to tap into prophetic unction; how to provoke and sustain prophetic blessings as well as notable prophetic pillars.

Dr. Oyedepo writes about how God called him into prophetic ministry in 1981 in the city of Jos, Nigeria. “God is always in search of a man to use to reach men, someone to bridge the gap between Him and others. He worked through Elijah, Paul, Peter, James etc. If God could do the work without labourers, He would have come Himself. But the fact still remains God cannot reach man without man (Ezekiel 22: 30).”

In chapters one and two, Dr. Oyedepo explains who a prophet is and their assignment in the prophetic era of the church. Prophets, he said, are God’s eagles instructed to carry the eaglets into their inheritance. A prophet according to him is God’s spokesman, one who speaks on God’s behalf to affect the state of well-being of God’s people. “At the prophet’s word, whatever has been an obstacle is converted by God to a miracle,” he explains.

The author further explains who prophets are:

  • Prophets are called (Hebrews 5: 4). Prophets are not chosen on merit but by grace and election
  • Prophets are God’s confidants (Amos 3: 7)
  • Prophets are agents of release (Hosea 12: 13, Acts 3: 22)
  • Prophets are ‘Carpenters’. In Zechariah 1: 18-21, the Carpenters are the prophets God raised to preserve the lives of His own people
  • Prophets are agents of abundance (Mathew 17: 27, James 2: 11)

He, however, warns the reader to beware of Fake prophets. Their words, he says, don’t have any divine backing. They live a questionable life style. They are dubious and crooked satanic agents, who have penetrated the church to weary the saints. Despite the infiltration of the church by the fake prophets, there are genuine ones who have significant roles to play in the prophetic era of the church.

Dr. Oyedepo buttresses that the rising of the church, which is the body of Christ is going to be on prophetic wings. He says the church has entered its third day, the time for Christians to command the envy of all creations. “Remember that it had been 2000 years since Jesus came and we have now entered the third one thousand years. Also, scripture say, that a thousand years is a day with God (2Perter 3: 8). So, we are in the third-day era of the church. The day of her rising.

“That is where the prophets come in. They will be greatly used to bring the church upon ‘the top of the mountains.’”

The author in chapter 3 notes that prophetic utterances are heavenly utterances, or divine commandments given expression through mortal lips. He argues that every time the prophet says, “Thus saith the Lord,” it is actually God Himself speaking. He is only using the prophet’s vocal system as a microphone (Psalm 29: 4, 7-9). Prophetic utterances also provoke miracles as in the case of Prophet Ezekiel in the valley of the dry bones (Ezekiel 37) and Elisha in 2Kings chapter 7.

In chapter 4, the author notes that there is no prophecy stronger than the prophecy of scriptures (the Word of God). It is called “the more sure word of prophecy” (2Peter 1: 19-21). “Scriptural prophecies are the most authentic, most profitable, most powerful, most resourceful form of prophecy – nothing compares with them. So you don’t have to wait for anyone to prophesy to you or tell you what next to do. You can go to the Word of God and locate a way out of any predicament.”

When the scripture says, ‘… the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy,’ it means that whatever Jesus has said is a prophetic inheritance for the saints. It is God speaking to your destiny, life, career, ministry, family, children, business and everything that concerns you. You need to highly appreciate this prophetic dimension of the Word. Its nature is invaluable.”

He rounds off the chapter emphasising that the scriptures are sure, they have been proved and they are for ‘whosoever.’

As potent as prophecies are, the author says that they don’t just get fulfilled. “This is where many people miss it. They go to bed the moment they have received a prophetic word – doing nothing but waiting and waiting. But that is wrong! There is no divine intervention without human cooperation,” he writes.

He advises that once prophetic words have gone forth, the readers must find out what to do to experience its performance and fulfilment in their lives.

Dr. Oyedepo therefore lists three keys to activate prophecies, which include:

  • The Key of Hearkening
  • The Key of Obedience (Job 36: 11) and
  • The Key of Preparation (Amos 4: 12)

The author talks about the Faith Factor in chapter six of the book. He emphasises that, “It takes absolute faith to enjoy absolute fulfilment of prophecies” (Luke 1: 45). He cites the example of the woman with the issue of blood in Mathew 9: 20-22 noting that faith is the principal weapon of fulfilment in the school of prophecy.

Dr. Oyedepo advises the reader not to consider the ‘how’ and ‘when’ of prophecy. That is, talking about the processes and the time factor, stressing the need for patience. “Friend, you may not look anything near what has been prophesied concerning you, but if you dare to believe God’s ability to bring to pass what He has said, you are bound to see it become a reality in your life,” he enjoins.

How to enforce prophecies is the focus in chapter seven. The author emphasises that every prophecy places responsibility on the receiver to enforce it through warfare (1Timothy 1:18). “If you are not a warrior, you don’t become a conqueror,” he adds.

To enforce prophecy therefore, there is the need to engage the mouth. “Your mouth is a weapon” (Luke 21: 15); declare the word (Ezekiel 37: 4) and address those situations (Mark 11: 23). “Quite a lot of Christians know how to talk or report problems to God. But only a few know how to address the situations of life. Yet, it takes speaking to those situations for them to bow.”

The author discusses how to provoke and sustain prophetic blessings in chapters 9 and 10 respectively. He says, “Caring for the prophet takes care of your cares.” He cites various examples of those who took care of the prophets in the scriptures and whose cares were taken care of:

  • The widow of Zarephath (1Kings 17: 8-14)
  • The Shunamite woman (2Kings 4: 8-17)
  • Jacob (Genesis 27: 27-28)
  • Women in Jesus’ Ministry (Luke 8: 2-3)
  • Abraham (Genesis 14: 18-20) and
  • The Philippian Church (Philippians 4: 15-19)

He, however, sounded a note of warning that believers should be careful and not to follow the crowd to speak against the prophet of God (2Timothy 3: 5).

Dr. Oyedepo rounds off in chapter 11 with notable prophetic pillars and testimonies in the Winners’ family, advising that, “All you have to do is believe and you shall see.”

In this book, Dr. Oyedepo does not only tell the reader who prophets are, but also communicates deep insights on the ways in which their ministry reaches out to mankind; what is required of a Christian to tap into the unction they carry, and to enjoy the blessings generated by the words they speak.

Riding on Prophetic Wings is therefore highly recommended to all believers, particularly those who have done all in their power and yet nothing seems to be working. It will surely bless you.
