Wait On The Lord (Wait Patiently)

-

Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day. The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

2 PETER 3:8-9 (AMP)

Most of the time, we pray to God and expect answers immediately, refusing to wait for God’s perfect timing. This impatience has caused a lot of people to miss God’s visitation. Many Christians go around looking for instant miracles and fast solutions to their problems, without waiting patiently on the Lord for those miracles.

We forget that the Bible is filled with men and women such as Abraham, Job, Hannah, Sarah, etc, who waited on God in spite of their problems and challenges. They held on to their faith and belief in God and in the end, God honoured them. Not only that, they are also listed in the Bible’s hallmark of Faith in Hebrews 11.

The scripture above says that the Lord does not delay as though He were unable to act. The fact that your miracle has seemingly delayed does not mean that the Lord is slow to act. Learning to wait patiently even when it seems like God has forgotten about you is an important part of your walk and relationship with God. As you wait, continue to serve Him with your body, soul and mind, continue to praise and worship Him, continue to hold on to His Word and promises and I can guarantee you, the Lord will cause you to smile.

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

Psalms 27:14 (NLT)

Pray with me:

Dear Lord, I thank You for my life and how far you’ve brought me. Father teach me to patiently wait on You and even as I wait grant me peace of mind and peace in my heart, in Jesus’ name, amen.
