Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams is widely regarded as the father of the charismatic movement in Ghana and one of the most influential Christian leaders on the African continent. Born in 1957 in Ghana, his early life was marked by the kind of spiritual hunger that would eventually birth a ministry of continental and global consequence. His encounter with God as a young man was dramatic and transformative — an experience of divine call that set the trajectory for everything that followed.
He founded Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM) and its flagship congregation, Action Chapel International, in Accra, Ghana. From its earliest days, Action Chapel was characterised by an atmosphere of intense prayer, prophetic ministry, and spiritual warfare — hallmarks that would define the Duncan-Williams brand of Christianity for decades to come.

Consecrated as a bishop and later elevated to the rank of Archbishop, Duncan-Williams has shepherded a global network of churches across Africa, Europe, North America, and beyond. His ministry has been instrumental in shaping the prayer culture of the Ghanaian church, and his influence extends far beyond his own denomination.
Archbishop Duncan-Williams is perhaps best known internationally as the spiritual father of many prominent African ministers — a “bishop to bishops” whose counsel and blessing are sought by church leaders across the continent. His role as a spiritual patriarch has given him a unique platform from which to speak to the direction of African Christianity at large.
