Drawing lessons from Ephesians 4:2, Apostle Eric Nyamekye indicated that there are levels of humility. He explained that complete humility is not simply being obedient.
“A person can separate themselves from their actions, implying that one can confidently perform an act out of obedience, however, that action may not be done wholeheartedly,” he revealed.
Touching on the responsibility of humility, the Chairman stated that Christians have a sole duty to be completely obedient to the Lord. He stressed that Christianity is not just declaring with the mouth but also totally obeying with the ‘heart’ every decree of the Lord.
“When we become Christians, we drop the yoke of sin and death, however, we take up another yoke and this is the yoke of total obedience and submission (complete humility) to our Lord and Master Jesus Christ,” he reiterated. (Mathew 11:28-29)
Apostle Eric Nyamekye added that a humble person must portray humility in their relations with others. He posited that every human being has a natural inclination to succumb to pride.
“We all have a bit of pride in us, however, if we want to be humble, we must deem others better than ourselves, regardless of their age or status,” he explained.
He, therefore, advised that people in places of authority should endeavour to honour those who are beneath them, as a sign of humility.
He further expounded that anyone who succumbs to pride becomes an enemy of the Lord because the Lord opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Apostle Nyamekye cautioned that holding onto pride only brings misfortune and failure because the Lord who gives success is against such a person.
Reading from James 4:10, the Chairman urged all Christians to be humble in order to receive and be partakers of the immeasurable grace of God. He also admonished them to make a conscious effort not to fall prey to pride because no one whom the Lord opposes succeeds.
He also advised Christians to make a conscious effort to avoid lip service and wholeheartedly live a life of humility.
In what is called the hall of faith in Hebrews 11, the Bible documents a catalogue of victories that people obtained under various circumstances. The list features great characters who have dominated many a sermon throughout the Church Age. These prevailers fall under two categories namely, “the obvious prevailers” and “another kind of prevailers”.
The obvious prevailers are those who obtained victories that could be clearly seen by everybody. The nature of the breakthroughs in this category is such that the natural mind can appreciate the victories. They escaped death, their needs were met and their enemies were destroyed (Hebrews 11:32-35).
Hebrews 11:35-38 include another kind of prevailers in the hall of faith. These “were tortured. They had “trial of cruel mockings and scourgings” and “bonds and imprisonment”. “They were stoned; they were sawn asunder, were tempted, and were slain with the sword”.
Hebrews 11:39 says, “AND THESE ALL, HAVING OBTAINED A GOOD REPORT THROUGH FAITH …”. Both the first and second category of prevailers obtained a good report because all their testimonies glorified God and became examples for others to follow and also prevail over their circumstances.
Don’t allow others to use their testimonies and stories of victory to deny you the joy of being a prevailer simply because your victory was not crafted like theirs (2 Corinthians 10:12). Believers do not only glorify God by how they live but also by how they die.
Prayer:
1. Pray for the grace and tenacity to prevail no matter the circumstances around you.
2. Pray also that you will receive a good report.

Decisions affect both your spiritual frequency and your natural frequency—the level of authority you operate in both the spiritual and natural spheres.
You can decide for a change. One decision can radically transform your life. The moment you make a decision, you alter your destiny. Destiny is decision oriented.
If you want to live an extraordinary life, you must have extraordinary decision-making skills. Your life comes to you in a measured way—one day and one decision at a time.
“Choose you this day…” Joshua 24:15 KJV
Every day that you awaken, you make destiny-defining choices. If today you don’t like where you are, then decide where it is you’d rather be—and then make the necessary choices that will take you there.
What is one decision you can make today that will move you in the direction of your dreams? You can decide to take 100% responsibility for your life.
When you take full responsibility, that means you take ownership—and the moment you take ownership, you put yourself back in the driver’s seat. Take your personal power back and begin making decisions that will change the course of your life one destiny-defining day at a time.
You are the author of your life story. You can choose what will be written on the pages of your life.
Every time you make a decision, you put pen to paper. Your decisions are the pen you use to write your life story—that means you’re going to have to think for a change; you’re going to have to be intentional about the decisions you make to create the changes you want.
If you want to elevate your life, you must elevate your thoughts.
The Kingdom—and the Word it is founded upon—is about getting you to shift your paradigm; training you how to think. The Word of God says that if you want to transform your life, you must first transform your mind—you must renew it, or realign it with the truth of who God says you are in Christ.
God’s blessing will open doors of opportunities and give you influence that education or money can’t produce.
As a follower of Christ, God’s blessing is available to you! God wants you so blessed and so favored that people will see it and be attracted to the God you serve.
So, what does this blessing look like? The very next chapter describes it saying, “Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold” (Genesis 13:2). And this blessing wasn’t short lived. It continued throughout his life. Genesis 24:1 (NLT) reveals that, “Abraham was now a very old man, and the Lord had blessed him in every way. ”
God’s blessing isn’t just reserved for Abraham. God’s blessing is available to you through the finished work of Jesus Christ! You are chosen by God, a recipient of His blessing, and people ought to see the blessing active in your life.
Can people see God’s blessing on your life? They should!
God spoke to His people in Deuteronomy 28:10 (NLT) declaring, “Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the Lord, and they will stand in awe of you.”
We see evidence of this in Isaac’s life also when Abimelech said to him, “Well, we can plainly see that Jehovah is blessing you” (Genesis 26:28 TLB).
Would you like to experience more of God’s blessing in your life?
Begin to declare every day that God’s blessing is on you. This blessing is a GIFT! You can not earn it. As a recipient of God’s grace, when you place your trust in Jesus as your savior, the blessing is placed on your life.
Sadly, many believers don’t walk in the blessing of God because of a lack of knowledge. They don’t know what God’s promises are or how to receive the blessing. That’s why God has called me to declare these truths and give personal examples of it working in my life.
Refuse to settle for average. Expect more than just surviving. Raise your faith and expectation to walk in the fullness of the blessing that Jesus made available to you.
Let’s celebrate the awesomeness of JEHOVAH GOD as we join Pastor E. A. Adeboye and other anointed Ministers of God, from Monday 5th to 11th of August, 2019 for the 67th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) tagged “AND GOD SAID”.
That a man fails is not a news, that he fails again and again is the news, and that he fails out is a life tragedy.
Many men fall, and instead of getting back up and continuing with life’s journey, they stay down, thinking life will never get better. But that should not be the case , especially for the believer in Christ Jesus.
Today’s lesson states clearly that a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again.
The Message Translation says: No matter how many times you trip them up, God-loyal people don’t stay down long; Soon they’re up on their feet.
So is there anywhere you’ve experienced a fall in your life, and you feel that’s all there is to life, please don’t stay down there.
In your bible study, prayer life, finance, business, health, etc., know that you were not made to dig dirt like chickens, but to soar the sky like the eagles.
Therefore, determine today to rise again; ask the Lord to help you, and you shall see yourself soaring higher and higher.
Food For Thought: Champions are known to rise after a fall, so don’t stay down, rise again.
